Tangerine Dream

About this design:

I'm getting ideas for this one. The paper beads are "raw" at this point. I still need to coat them and varnish them, but this is a rough idea of what I'm working on. Do I need more contrast in my beads? Should the smaller beads be a different contrasting color and, if so, what would you suggest? Thanks and Happy New Year to everyone!

Components:

Handmade Paper Beads; Crystals and Goldtone Bead Caps

I love your paper beads … all the shapes are cool! Have you ever tried making them from fabric too?

If it was my necklace, since you asked, I might be tempted to try few coordinating larger gemstones/agates in-between in solid colors of brown/yellow/orange/or green … just a few chunky ones might be all that you’d need to add that extra contrast you may be looking for … I like the smaller ones that you have in this piece already. Can’t wait to see your finished version. SLS

I like it just the way it is! If you wanted more contrast, I like Shannon’s idea of few chunkier beads in a green or brown.

The crystals are the right color, but I thing that copper metal beads might be the contrast you are looking for. BTW, I love the paper beads!!!

how about trying it out with brighter green crystals, more like the green in the paper…

Yeah, I like the idea of green—Maybe we could weave up some copper yarn balls and embelish them with green crystal seed beads. That would add color and texture!!! :)

This bracelet could be varied in several ways. The idea of a contrasting bead used in place of every other small bead would work nicely. Try out different ones to see which you like. My fist thought was to use a lighter larger bead, something like howlite or pale opal. The use of a transparent green or large hollow metal bead with cut out parts would be interesting too. Just three large beads would probably be enough. They would separate into four sections the two opposing cone and one round paper shaped paper beads.

This is beautiful. I love that you’re getting into different shapes; they’re wonderful. I like it just the way it is.

I really love all of your paper beads and these are my favorite so far. I think maybe green paper beads or green gemstones would look fantastic in this necklace. Green and orange is one of my favorite color combinations, it really pops and still evokes nature. Good luck! :D

I love this..I think a touch of green is a great idea. Love the beads and love bead placemet, it would be hard to improve on.

I love it already, but if I were the one making changes, I would probably agree that a few green gemstones would be just right! :D
