About this design:
so, when i was making my ornaments, this came into being. I decided it might make a better pendant. I'm not sure like the chain I picked -- I think it might be better to use a lighter chain.
Components:
copper chain (from LB), copper wire, misc glass beadsRead the comments (or add your own)

K H says:Pam, this is lovely!!! I happen to like the chain you chose. There are two ways to think lighter – weight and color. I think the weight of the chain is appropriate to balance the pendant. I think the color of the chain picks up the color of the beads – I think if you went with a plain copper chain you would risk losing the artsy look for an “off the rack” look. I vote for artsy.

Beadlady3 aka Cindy says:I’m going to agree with KH! The metal elements don’t have to match for it to be a great design.

Elaine aka Belly Chick says:Love your cool pendant!! My personal taste would be a more open chain to match the openness of the curly-cues of the pendant. But that’s just me….

Lynn g says:I think a larger chain too!! but only a opinion, nice pendant.
On Jan 12, 2011 at 9:34 pm #
MoonBell says:Awesome pendant. I think the chain works just fine. Maybe if you’re worried about it matching, you could add a few handmade copper links around the length of the necklace? That way it’s not just the clasp and the focal that are the lighter copper color.

Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:Wonderful pendant, Pam!
I also like the idea of a more open chain and adding some of the lighter colored copper metal throughout. Be sure to let us all know what you decide….

Orchid Betty says:I also prefer a more open chain with this fabulous pendant!

Mary S - Sweet Chick says:I’m with Moonbell and Chicky Lee on this one.
Keep us posted.
Maybe some bright copper mixed in the length of the chain to balance the bright & antiqued combo. OR add a bit of antiqued copper to the pendant?
I really like where you are gong with this design idea though!!

Canadian chicky karen says:This is a great pendant, I like the idea of a more open chain, just a thought, either way it is a wonderful design!!

Deb D Grammy Chick says:This really is a wonderful pendant…I love playing with wire and beads just to see what I can come up with!
As to the chain, I tend to agree with Moonbell and Lynn about the open chain and the use of some more lighter colored copper. Can’t wait to see your end result!

Dora H says:what a gorgeous pendant !!!
On Jan 14, 2011 at 6:15 am #
Jeannes Gems - Gem Chick says:I absolutely love your pendant, Pam! I agree with the friends who suggested a more open chain. I’m thinking maybe add some czech glass links to the chain to bring out the bead in the pendant.
Are you totally confused now???
On Jan 14, 2011 at 1:00 pm #
Little Round Chick says:Love, love, love the pendant. Love the chain, too, but it is a bit over powering. I agree with the others about using a more open chain. A more open chain wouldn’t compete with the pendant for attention. Can’t wait to see the final product.

NY Bella says:Beautiful! I agree, this would look gorgeous with an open weave chain! Looking forward to your finished piece!

Pam E aka funky tulip says:i’d had the same thought about the more open chain, and just happened to order some from LB, which arrived the other day. I’ll get to it soon, and repost — thanks!
