About this design:
I wanted to make a necklace that seemed to tell a story with texture. I also wanted to use one of the round Lumber Toggles as a focal in a necklace and the owl seemed to perch itself so easily upon it! I tried several new things with this necklace: knotting chain and silk ribbon together, using a bead cone to finish the silk and chain, and attaching a pendant to a toggle using chain instead of a jump ring.
See the step by step instructions for some details about using a cone with silk and chain.
I really love the different textures of the cable and leafy chains, the silk, the copper bead, and the ceramic all working together.
Components:
Earthenwood Lumber Toggle and Owl pendant, Patricia Healey copper bead, copper plated chain, silk ribbon, copper cone and findingsStep-by-Step Instructions:

Cuban Queen Crazy Chick says:Gee, what can I say about this beautiful, earthy masterpiece? It truly is a work of art. I love everything about it — the colors, the overload of textures, the earthiness of it, it even has movement. It’s like wearing a magical children’s storybook around your neck!

earthenwood says:Thanks everyone!
The silk ribbon is so pretty to accent with… adds instant texture with minimal effort!
And that leaf chain is really fun! I like to take off the individual leaves for really tiny details for earrings and other jewelry pieces. There are about a million of them in a foot of chain! It felt really decadent to use a whole length for a necklace.
