Fields of Green

About this design:

I'm making these to sell. The necklace is 16" with a 2" extender chain. My question is what would you guys sell this for? I have no clue since this is all new to me.

Components:

Organza and Cotton Cord Ribbon Necklace, Paper Bead, Gold Crystals, Green Czech Glass Bead and a Gold Bead Cap.

What a lovely necklace! Great work with the paperbead and the colormix! Maybe 35-40$??

Lovely green necklace! :) Yes, pricing is always a little tricky. You don’t want to be overpriced and scare away customers, but you don’t want to under-sell yourself, either — generally, I think a lot of designers take the cost of the materials and multiply by 2 or 3. Good luck!

What a beautiful pendant! I love the way you kept the rest of the necklace a simple organza ribbon — keeps the focus where it belongs!

I use the formula Ivy refers to, unless the components are super-inexpensive. Then I have a standard price I use for earrings, bracelets, necklaces, and pendants. Also, it depends where you live in the world and if you live in a big city or a smaller town. Personally, I think Wenche’s price range is a good one. I would definitely pay that amount if I were shopping for this at a jewelry show or in a boutique. :D

Love it!! I agree with Ivy and Lynn…..Because I usually sell at a Gallery and she takes 35%, I double the cost and usually add 50%. In your case, don’t forget the extra time it would take to make your paper bead. :-)

this is great, love the color. I agree, pricing is tricky! I always feel I’m getting it wrong, but I agree with the ladies above – $35 to $40 sounds good to me

Love the bead, btw! Sorry I can’t be of much help on the pricing, after 3 years, I’m still trying to sort that out myself… I’m constantly being told I undersell. :/

Absolutely amazing bead! Love the colors.

Good luck with the pricing. I’ve been at this for a while and have sorta got my self a system. For simple pendants I usually charge from $15 to $25 depending on the cost of materials and time involved. Every other person in Southern California makes and sell jewelry so competition is fierce. What ever you decide be sure you factor in the time.
