About this design:
This mini-round robin project with Carol and Martha warmed my heart (literally!). Mine started with a 6 inch segment in the back (including a flower clasp and bead) and I also sent Carol the lovely lampwork focal by Stephanie Ann with a large pink amethyst attached for her to add to it.
And boy did she ... she added some lovely gemstones from her collection, as well as lampwork beads that echoed the flower theme started by me.
Then Martha added her magic, beads, and creativity with a lovely addition that helped set off this special focal.
This was such a fun collaboration with the three of us ... within a month we each had a completed necklace that was uniquely our own, shared our bead stashes and created necklaces that we alone wouldn't have dreamed in our minds!
Personally, mine got some neat touches of green that I might not have added and the black additions really helped the focal. I tend to DREAM in purple so mine might have ended up all purple without the wonderful collaboration and teamwork that we created with these pieces.
Can't wait for you to see their additions, which are all being posted here today. We urge you all to start some 'mini-round robins' of your own.
Currently there are two teams of 6 people(The Global Beadettes and the Beading Contessas) that are mailing 6" or longer completed pieces each month to each other. It's been a lot of fun to see these pieces grow and develop, but until the end, no peeking or sharing is allowed within each team. These each also have a detailed journal which is being created and added to by each of us. What a special project these round robins are, big or small!!

Boston Lady says:Shannon, this round robin with you and Martha was so much fun to work on. What I liked the best about it was that we had the freedom to create whatever we wanted to but kept in the mainstream of the starting segment. I can’t begin to tell about the enthusiasm whenever I got the mail and either your necklace or Martha’s was in my hand. It was a total rush. Round robin #2? Any time. So glad that you asked me and are enjoying your dream necklace. Smile!

Eeka Mouse says:This came out great! I see the hallmarks of each of your styles, and they come together so nicely. Will Martha & Carol post pix of theirs (apologies if you already have, I’ve been tied up and not on-site much lately).
I like the idea of mini-Round-Robins (would they be Robinettes?). you get a completed piece sooner, and 18″ is more my style…
I will be setting Martha’s ‘Contessa’ Robin free to fly to Violet this week. It has been a blast to work on everyone’s pieces! (and I am looking forward to seeing the rest of our flock).
