“turquoise waters”

Description from foxhill designs vt: Does anyone know if the african turquoise LB carries is dyed or natural? I admit I am a bit of a snob when it comes to gemstones and I prefer to used natural stones. I love turquoise, but it is so hard to find undyed beads.

Good question. A lot of the undyed African turquoise I have seen is greener than this and I was wondering, too. It is beautiful and so is your pick! Go ahead and be a snob. :) I am, too!

Hi…. beeYuuteeful pick. Love, love it. I am particularly partial to turquoise even if it isn’t purple (there is some purple turq. but its very rare and expensive).

So I emailed the LB team and asked them. They usually answer within a day or so.

That is a great question, but I’m not sure either! Wonderful colors though in this! Great pick!

Looks like someone is thinking about a trip to the tropics! This is such an outstanding pick, Jolene!
If you email LB (like Nancy did) they will respond.

Copied this from this website, apparently it’s not even real turquoise, it’s jasper.

African Turquoise is the trade name for a jasper that is mined in Africa. It has a coloration and matrix structure very similar to that of turquoise. The base color of these beautiful gemstone beads ranges from light aqua to deep turquoise and is intermixed with a matrix of rich chocolate brown. These African turquoise beads possess a rich, smooth luster – there is no chalkiness in their texture or appearance.

African Turquoise is a perennial classic that can be incorporated into funky, casual designs or into elegant, more formal pieces.
