These gorgeous African trade thin heishi beads are colorful and have great texture. They’re the perfect component for color-blocking design projects.
Also called record beads or vulcanized heishi beads, they’ve been around the jewelry market forever and were originally made from vulcanized rubber. Recent testing has shown that many are now made from vinyl. They were most likely made in Europe and exported to West Africa for trade before finding their way to our shelves :)
