“Ann's Peace”

Description from EPBCornell: My husband's mother has entered into hospice care, thankfully back at home. Only the Lord knows her time left with us, but so far she is doing miraculously well maintaining strength and facing the unknown. I am praying the Lord will hold her up in his comfort and peace and strength, giving her assurance she has nothing to fear, for as long as she has. There are many signs, but she is also one of the toughest women I have known when it's all on the table. We are reminding ourselves to just trust in God. And enjoying the time we have while Mom's strength and humor is good.

Liz, I’m sorry to hear about your husband’s mom. Tough women have so much fighting power, they often last much longer than expected. She and the family will be in my prayers. You have created a beautiful soft serene pick. I just had to add it to my faves.

So sorry about your Mother-in-Law. I was told I had 2-5 years–and that was 14 years ago. I do believe in the power of prayer and I know God is responsible for my long life and the sense of humor I still have! We are tough and God makes us tougher!

EPB, What a blessed time to have with your mother-in-law. Remember Psalms 23:4-the key words are walking in the shadow. What she has to look forward to is what all who believe look forward to. The journey there is but a shadow! Prayers for your family. Your pick is beautiful and peaceful!

EPB, your pick is beautiful, peaceful, and spiritually uplifting. Your mother-in-law is a blessing to you as you are to her. She reminds me of my wonderful mom-in-law who spent her final hospice days at home with her family gathered ‘round her. Cherish every last moment with her and love her into heaven.

Thank you so much for your kind words, prayers and thoughts. Robin, Psalm 23 has indeed been a lifeline, and one of the family was reading it for Mom daily, even before hospice. She had been reading her way through Psalms before, always ending back with 23.
Last night she passed, now to dwell in the house of the Lord forever, joining her husband Douglas, there 12 years now, and brother Mickey who passed just this year, and sister Ginny, and other family who have given themselves to and received the salvation of the Lord Jesus.
We are mourning that she is gone from us, but relieved for her that her struggles are over, at ease that she had lucid time to say goodbye to her loved ones and resolve and forgive any old ill will and make arrangements that her wishes will be followed for her services and after.
She was tremendous in her grit and humor, finding strength no logic could explain, to the very end. She did awesome.

My deepest sympathies to you. May you find her presence abides with you in every time of need or thing of beauty.

My sympathy to you and your family! Indeed, she walked through the shadow and is alive, healthy and will come with Him soon. What hope! There’s weeping in the night for a time(we are in such a time as this), but joy comes in the morning. Grieving is like standing in the water at the beach. The water will come and wash over you/and sometimes slaps you in the face and then it will recede. As you and your family grieve you’ll grow closer to God

Thank you so much. It’s hard to explain thoughts and feelings right now, but your words are beautiful, welcome kindness as I stumble and tread through this. The water has not rushed in so far as to overwhelm for me; I worry more for my husband and his brothers and my nieces who were closest to their grandma. I would like to share these comments with my nieces, if that is ok?
