“Bees n Bellflowers”

Description from Kathryn R: One of the joys of early summer is walking around and viewing my husband's flower gardens and seeing the bees and pollinators return. Big bees, tiny bees, medium size bees - all so busy buzzing around to each flower and gathering the pollen.

I love this pick! My youngest daughter is named Beatrice. Bea for short. One of my husband’s friends would always say ” is the bee buzzing today” when we would visit.

Great pick! I love bees and haven’t seen very many, even though I have flowers all around. What kinds does your husband plant?

Thank you LB folks! MM, my husband has built a new garden every year since he’s retired! In his full sun garden he planted pink shrub roses which attract the most bees. Also Butterfly Weed, spring bulbs, Aster and Hydrangea.Very seldom have have we seen honeybees. Bumblers are plentiful! We put up a Mason Bee house on a back yard tree and hopefully they will establish there. I have Lantana hanging in the sun and Fusciia hanging in the shady front stoop and Hummingbirds like them.

Congratulations on your awesome POD. I always loved my flowers and so miss being able to work in them. We have a few flower beds here. It gets so hot here that they get kind of wilty. But there are folks who are more able bodies than I who come out with a sprinkling can and water them. There is a faucet nearby the exit I use. Anyway, keep enjoying your flowers. Its such a blessing.

Thanks so much, Everyone! Of course I missed this yesterday. Nancy, our heat index yesterday was 101. So, I got a little taste of what you often have during the summer. Our shrub roses are now overrun with Japanese beetles and the bees shy away which is sad. Hope you all got in on some good prices!
