What a nice tribute to the Boulder victims. Lucky you for not being there. I like how your pendant picks look like the layering of the surrounding mountains shown in the news reports. RIP to them all, especially the policeman that gave his life to protect them.

How awful to have happened to your community! Heartache and tears are shown elequently in your pick. It is difficult for families and communities to heal with just “thoughts and prayers.” But sincere sympathy and empathy put into action help to heal individuals as well as whole communities. My heart also goes out to the families in Atlanta suffering from their tragic losses of loved ones, and the hate that caused them. Please please please – no more hatred.

What happened there was so upsetting it’s hard to comment. I feel like it’s beyond tragedy– a painful sign of the dysfunction of society. I can’t fathom the suffering of those who lost loved ones this way, nor can I fathom the hatred, disdain, and lack of respect the shooter felt for the strangers he killed. I feel the very existence of guns designed for the purpose of killing people, especially many people at a time, is a horrible sign of our societal dysfunction as a species. That people want to kill people, rather than try to find respect or understanding for their differences. It is the ultimate selfishness and self-righteousness that destroys humanity. Why are there people the lessons don’t reach to look outside themselves with respect and compassion, to seek understanding and acceptance of differences? It upsets me and frustrates me to the point of anger and despair. God bless the families and friends of those killed to find comfort and strength to go on. God mend the broken soul of the shooter to understand and feel bitter remorse for what he has done. God bless our broken world and broken hearts, be at work in them to grow us out of our dysfunctional ways.

I am so, so sorry this happened and sorry that it was in your close community. There are so many teardrops shed over these senseless tragedies – they could fill an ocean. Your pick is a lovely tribute. Take care.
