Description from Kathryn R: The weather has drastically changed up here in the Northland, from nice sunny moderate temps to near freezing at night! The chilly days have me inspired to do some (digital) baking of yummy fall treats: chocolate chip and ginger cookies, caramel rolls, apple, custard and pumpkin pies, muffins, chocolate anythings....and enjoy them with a nice hot coffee beverage.

Love the carrot cake and pumpkin pie.

Melody F says:Chocolate lentils? Now that’s a weird idea. We recently discovered a chocolate dip made with garbanzo beans and cocoa powder. I had my doubts, but I love chocolate, and it was on sale, so we bought some. Now I wish we had bought more! This delicious pick would make lots of bracelets and necklaces that would be great for fall. I wonder if they have the Ceylon Custard in size 8. Into my favorits this goes!

Robin nursechick says:In to my favorites as well! Love your pic and all the delicious fall baking references – I bet they’ll be as delicious as your pic. We just had a cold front here in Houston- it was only 89! How I long for for cool weather, sweaters, pumpkin spice lattes and soup! ( is that weird? It sounds weird but I associate cool weather with homemade soup)

Crystal Canary says:I can’t believe that little gingerbread man! This is one spicy, warming pick that has me thinking of sipping on hot coco in front of the fireplace.

Granny Nancy says:Oh yummy. I loved how you picked stones with the names of pies or spices like cinnamon. I love the little ginger bread boy. There was a short time when I baked a lot when my boys were growing like weeds. I was copying my Mom’s recipes so I could bake like her. But I’d always end up going back to work so there was little time except just before Christmas when I took off 2 weeks of vacation to clean and bake. But with all this talk I can smell the pies, etc. Bake away but I can’t join you so could someone send me some frosted sugar cookies. They are my favorite except for pies.

Granny Nancy says:PS: Congratulations on an exquisite and delightful POD. I’d be interested to know how long it took you to round up all the ingredients for your pick. You did an admirable job.

EPBCornell says:Congrats on your clever, cold-weather cozy comfort POD! It is getting to that time here when it feels good to stand over the oven with the door cracked after a good bake while the goodies are cooling! You’ve found quite an array of good things baked and for baking here among the beads and things– quite impressive! Thank you for your tasty pick!

Kathryn R says:Thanks to all!
Nancy and EPBCornell, I am with you enjoying our memories of winter and holiday baking – by our moms and by ourselves. I too would have to take vacation time from work to cram in cleaning, laundry and baking into a few short days before Thanksgiving and Christmas. Unfortunately, I have metabolic syndrome and have to avoid diabetes by eating no sugar and low carbs. So now I’m trying out new keto versions of the above treats! A few of them taste ok…..:o/

dolllady aka Pam says:Delicious fall line up of baking treats! I’m with Robin nursechick we had our first cool front with 80+ degree highs for about 4 days. It made cookbook cooking much more bearable. Can’t wait until baking weather arrives sometime between Christmas and the end of January. I saved this POD to savor until then.
