“Conflagration”

Description from Melody F: Salem, OR is covered with smokey air. Several nearby small towns up the Santiam Canyon have burned to the ground. We are all waiting for rain.

In Nebraska but from California so I know firsthand. Please know that many all over are praying for rain for the Northwest!!!…My favorite art teacher said that “craft” becomes “art” when it expresses something meaningful or tells a significant story. Thank you for your meaningful and significant story!

So sad … prayers for rain are being said by many. Your pick does tell a story.

The colors in your conflagration pick are all too familiar. The area where I live in Southern California seem to be under a constant Red Flag warning this time of year and the worst of our fire season is yet to come. Love the colors in your pick but not the condition they represent. Stay safe.

You showed it: ash, fire, skulls, green things burning. The third row reminds me of our local skies 9/9 (Bay Area), and row 1 is too many other days. Stay safe and well.

So sorry for everyone on the entire West coast. Even people not right in the immediate burning areas are suffering with worry if they are next or having breathing problems or worried about family members. Your pick reflects the situation. When I first saw the picture I thought of the Hispanic holiday Day of the Dead.

Melody, your pick tells it all. These West Coast superfires are deadly and apocalyptic. My heart goes out to you and yours with prayers for the wind to change and rain to come! Here in MN the smoke from the west has made the sky hazey and made the sun an orange ball. My daughter and son in law still have sooty smoke hanging in San Francisco. Scientists are telling us this will only get worse. :(
