Decorivets!

About this Tip:

Whether you are attaching the decorivet to a piece of leather or metal, or using the decorivet as a link, this tip will show the best way to fold over those spiky prongs.

CAUTION! Try not to wiggle the prong back-and-forth too much. It will loosen the prongs and they may snap. Try your best to bend in one fluid motion.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step 1:
Take your pliers and gently bend the prongs around to the backside of the decorivet. Make sure that the pointy end (the tip) is tight up against the backside of your decorivet/leather/metal.
Step 2:
Using the chain nose pliers will create a more flush appearance, making it ideal for when is is on top of another material (such as leather or another metal). The round nose pliers and bail making pliers will create more of a looped appearance that would work well for using as a link.

I just love love love these. Please keep them in stock and carry any new versions when they come along. They are so easy to use, and so versital. I’ve used these on leather, as connectors, buttons, and on my material purses. Looking forward to seeing more styles. Stacy mixed media artist
