“Flight of Fancy”

Description from Kats Pajamas: Inspired by the effects of aging, these patina-based selections prove that not all aging has to be a bad thing. Often times there is beauty to be found in such weathering.

Tell my body that! Nice pick. Some reasonably priced could-be additions to my stash are previewed here.

I wish wrinkles and gray hairs were seen on us as desirable and beautiful as a fine patina on metal! And why not? Great pick, Kats PJs! Has everything here to put together some wonderful projects– an elaborate necklace (or two) is taking shape in my mind as I look through your selections. Would make a great POD!

Love your aged pick. Nice way of thinking about growing older. Really like the Czech Glass Turquoise faceted drop.

Great color that softens our aging aging ski and graying hair.

Kat’s Pajamas, your pick went right into my faves. I love your comparison between patina/verdigris and my aging. I appreciate your encouragement and your selection of components of metals and that come together so beautifully. I especially like that Vintage Turquoise Teardrop with the patinas!

Thank you all for the kind comments! Don’t forget to think outside the jewelry box! I’m currently in the process of using several of these picks in a dream catcher design for my daughter to hang up on her wall. The feathers and owls make outstanding accents, as do the drops. Add some dyed natural feathers for a multi-textured look!

That looks exciting, Kats Pajamas! Congratulations on a creative POD!

I am with all the above comments, especially those above about ‘patinated faces’. This is another reminder pick for my faves, thank you!

BTW – what are you using for the dreamcatcher webbing?

    Kats Pajamas says:

Chicky, I’m using Spiderwire for my webbing. I rarely fish anymore, so I decided to make use of the ridiculous amount of line I’ve accumulated over the years. It’s very strong (30lb test) and works really well if you have the patience for web weaving.

  16. Kats Pajamas
    Kats Pajamas says:

Sometimes simplicity is the best choice. Winter is not exactly the best time for a pure metal design, as metal is often seen as cold, but I really do think the warm tones of patinaed brass make up for that.
