Beautiful as a spring day, loving the soft greens with the dramatic darks :D

    puppychick labratbecky says:

I was trying to show Nancy what the real chrysoprase color looks like with these colors. I think this opal crystal is about as close in color as we can get.

  3. Asia
    Asia says:

    I think so too :D

  4. Granny Nancy
    Granny Nancy says:

Ladies, I think someone sent me the wrong things. I just got a shipment thats supposed to be chrysoprase but its a dark green like green agate. I have other chrysoprase and its a lovely shade of green on the green opal you use in this pick. I was so disappointed.

I’m exhausted but tomorrow I’m going to take a picture of it and attach it to an email and ask the LB team why its this color – in fact I’ll include the chrysoprase I already have had so the difference will be apparent.

Anyway, it will give me time to finish the project I started months ago.

Thanks Beck and thanks everyone. Nancy

    Beautiful green pick, Becky!

  7. Granny Nancy
    Granny Nancy says:

I have learned that there are many shades of green chrysoprase. The most rare and expensive is the minty green. I have minty green nuggets that are approx. 6mm in size.

The ones I bought were 8mm rounds – a full strand for $36 after the discount. But as you will see in the attached picture, they are not the pretty minty green.

My nuggets are worth hundreds of dollars according to what I’ve seen on the Internet.

  8. Granny Nancy
    Granny Nancy says:

I forgot to say that the mint green ones are my small nuggets.

  9. puppychick labratbecky
    puppychick labratbecky says:

I have some of those dark ones, too, and I think they call them apple green. Even if they aren’t as rare, I still think they are gorgeous. I also have the minty ones. If I can round up a string’s worth (16 inches)of the minty greens from my stash, would you be interested in a trade?

  10. Crazy Beader
    Crazy Beader says:

Gosh, I like this combination, Becky – - think the pewter works better than bright silver. Hope you and Nancy get those beads traded, too !

  11. Granny Nancy
    Granny Nancy says:

Sure, but these are really darker than apple green. I’d rather do a trade than go thru returning them, etc.

I looked around on etsy and couldn’t find anything close in price. I’d even trade if you have other 8mms besides chrysoprase. Let me know what you find. No rush for sure.

And if I think of an example of something else I could use, I’ll let you know.

    TX :)

  12. Chicky Red-haired Grammy
    Chicky Red-haired Grammy says:

Nancy, check Fire Mountain Gems for all the colours of chrysoprase. I order from them from time but not gemstones while I am in London – they are often of a lesser quality than shown on the website and it is too expensive to return from here. I use FM for silver, vermeil and gold-filled beads and findings.

    Beautiful pick, Becky!

  13. puppychick labratbecky
    puppychick labratbecky says:

Nancy, your chrysoprase nuggets are fantastic! Excellent quality! I will start looking when I get home from work. Let me know if there is something else you would rather trade for. Chances are I have some of whatever it is. :) My stash is ridiculous. I agree with Merilee about the lesser quality of stones from FM. LB has them beat hands down!

  14. Granny Nancy
    Granny Nancy says:

I would love any of your minty chyroprase that you are willing to part with. I love keishi pearls of all colors and especially white round or potato freshwater pearls.

Or, whatever you have in purple you have too much of (snort!) :)

  15. Granny Nancy
    Granny Nancy says:

Oh by the way, I have 54 of the dark green. Another color would be teal freshwaters.

Would you by any chance have any purple turquoise? I love those and they are really up there as well. I have a short strand and would love a few more.

  16. Granny Nancy
    Granny Nancy says:

Also, if your chyroprase are nuggets sort of like mine, that’s ok too.

  17. Granny Nancy
    Granny Nancy says:

Hi, I put a msg in the wrong place. That is why I soooooo prefer email. Anyway, want to make sure you really want to do a trade. Its fine if you do. LB contacted me and they’ll do a refund even for the postage to return the beads.

So be sure you want these.

  18. puppychick labratbecky
    puppychick labratbecky says:

I am going through my stones right now. :) I know I have pearls you would like, too. Give me an hour or so to dig and I will email you after that. ok?
