Description from doglover72: I remember living in Michigan as a child and looking out the window after a new snow. As the sun was coming up it turned the snow and frost on the window golden. A beautiful sight I would love to see again someday--I don't think I will see it here in Texas any time soon!

dolllady aka Pam says:Beautiful pick for a beautiful memory. It depends on which part of Texas you live that you may have a chance to see frost on your windows. The panhandlers and El Paso areas have the best chances. Dallas area gets an occasional chance maybe once or twice a year. You get South of San Antonio probably no chance. I have lived South of SA for almost 34 years and saw snow once. It was not even a real and only enough to make a 12 to 18 inch fall snowfall. It really was a mix of set snow and sleet.

doglover72 says:dolllady, I now live on the north side of San Antonio. We’ve lived here 3 different times during our military career and now 13 years after retirement. We saw snow once! 13 inches and what a bunch of destruction since nothing was build to stand up to that much wet snow. Great for the kids though. But I didn’t get to see my frosty golden window pane. Still my memories are nice.

Kathryn R says:Doglover72, I gotta take this opportunity to Thank You for your service to your countrywomen and countrymen. Up here inn the Northern Tier, I can SO relate to your description of sunny golden frost on the window! That is one of the many beautiful sights that get us through the brutal winters, (along with that great invention polar fleece). Your pick went into my faves.

EPBCornell says:Congrats on your glorious POD, doglover! Thank you for serving our country, too, and hope you had a positive Veterans Day yesterday.
You’ve done well to capture the effect of glistening golden morning light on a snowy and frosted window. I can imagine it as you’ve depicted, as I don’t remember being so lucky to see light so golden in the old frosted windows of our past houses myself. But I think I had north & west facing bedroom windows then… Anyway it’s a spectacular vision. Thanks for sharing it!

Zippy-Klunk says:Moved from Southern California to the suburbs of Chicago. That first winter we were so surprised that “frosted window panes” were really a thing! So beautiful! Until we had to replace the 1917 originals with new windows. No more bad drafts. And no more frosted, sparkly, beauty…lovely pick and fun memories!
