Gluing Feathers in a Cone

About this Tip:

Creating eye-catching earrings and pendants with feathers is a breeze using a metal cone, headpin and some epoxy.

Components:

The products featured in this tip are listed below.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step 1:
Start by laying out the feathers in your preferred arrangement.
Step 2:
You may decide to trim some of the feathers. If you do this, you want to bring your cutters as close to the center as possible.
Step 3:
String a 3-4mm bead onto a headpin and put it through the cone. Create a loop with some wire wrapping at the top of the cone. The bead is important so that the head pin doesn’t pull through the hole at the top of the cone.
Step 4:
Mix a small amount of 2-part epoxy and place a couple drops in the cone.
Step 5:
Insert the feather arrangement into the cone and get it set the way you want it to look. Once your Lima Studios epoxy sets, it’s forever!
Step 6:
Make a match for earrings or use as a pendant.

This is Odin he is a rescue that came into my life after the “Ole Lady” passed away she was 22 yrs. old. Let me tell you he sure is a lot of fun when I am trying to do crafts he is a very needy flame tip Siamese. If he had it his way everything would be his toy to run off with and hide. And he best time for me to shop at my favorite place LIMA BEADS is when he is sleeping :) or his paws start tapping keys….seriously…no joke..ya’ll have a good day and God Bless.

I am not understanding the 3rd step. If someone could clarify I would be very appreciative! Is the bead supposed to be inside of the cone? Where is the wire-wrapping? Very confused.
    Thanks!!
