Gypsum is the main component of Plaster of Paris, a widely known plaster used for decorative elements. Gypsum is so associated with this purpose, that the word Gypsum comes from the Greek word “gypsos” meaning plaster.
Gypsum is a very common sulfate mineral. Clear varieties are called Selenite. Selenite is a very fragile stone. Do not submerge it in water, and extra care should be taken not to scratch the surface.
Gypsum is used metaphysically to perform energy cleansings.
