“Hauling Grain”

Description from Deco Chick Elaine: Grandma and I would hitch a wood-sided wagon to the old tractor and go to the grain elevator in the late summer. Most times we hauled corn, but sometimes soybeans or wheat. We would see lots of birds, the wild flowers along the road, and hear the tractor's gears and tires crunch. The steering wheel was almost too big for Grandma, lol...

What fun with Grandma and what great memories! A fabulous representation with the perfect components! :-D
I remember when we used to haul hay…the old fashioned way! Throwing those square bails up to the person on the wagon, stacking it and hauling it on a trailer to the barn. Hot, hot, hot and sweaty work, but great memories!

Remember it all. The only thing missing is the shotgun that Granny carried to shoot the blackbirds who were eating the grain before we could get it out of the field! Whole new meaning to ‘riding shotgun’. Thanks for the memories!
