“Help Save the Bees”

Description from Crystal Canary: Well, finally, my first pick! I think I just needed some inspiration, and when you see the picture below...you’ll see what I mean! A swarm of bees decided to make hubby’s composter their new home. The picture shows the first day of their arrival. By day 5, it was covered! We were able to get them to move on with the help of a local beekeeper and a lot of coaxing. I was excited when I found the Czech barrel as it is shaped just like the composter! Colony Collapse Disorder is greatly affecting the bee population and is an issue that can't be ignored—it’s important to save the bees!

Beautiful pick!! Hopefully, it will get the message out to others. Our farmers in So. TX need the bees to pollinate their crops. We have so many that have been boosted our by the Africanized bees.

Our wholesale discount store was selling a wooden “bee chalet” which looks big enough for one yard’s bees. I bought one and they were selling like crazy. It’s something that one family can get to support bees at home.

MH & Kathryn R, Thanks for the posts!

Kathryn, What a beautiful necklace! I love the golden pearls–perfect for the bee-theme.
Thanks for taking time to post it for me to see. I feel inspired to go look thru my pearls…just wish I had some more time. No time for beading (or much anything else–house renovations & lots of cleanup!)

MH, nice to know about the ‘chalets’!
    Take care everyone! :)
