Very clever! I love the hibiscus coin beads!

It’s a hot pick Melody! I don’t know about you, but we’ve had temps over 100 for the last month with no end in sight. We need some rain so badly–my front yard crunches beneath my feet and I’m terrified it’ll go up in flames. Oh well, it’s summer and that’s what happens. Anyway, I love your pick–hope those rings let some cool air in for you!!!

Thanks D Kandis and SilverCords aka Judy! Judy, you are having it much worse than I am, although there was an inch wide crack in the dirt (clay) in the back yard when I went to water. Today I see that one of my cherry trees has leaves that are brown around the edges. I’m in Salem, Oregon, and the temperatures are supposed to go down quite a bit next week. We are allowed to water, so I should get out there in the early evening. I’ve been beading outside after dark by artificial light when it cools a bit. We don’t have great air conditioning, but enough to manage. However there is a paper wasp nest near my table outside. They don’t seem to be active after dark, but I may have to hire an exterminator.

Melody, your pick is so hot that it’s really cool!! Congratulations! Years ago I had bees in my bedroom wall and the exterminator came to take them, not to kill them. Who knows with wasps?

Thanks for the compliment on my red pick, MH. After a wasp stung my mate on the nose the exterminator was called, alas. The nest was right by our back door. Upside is now I can string beads at my outdoor station without trepidation, and water the irises with no retaliation.

Love this!! Some goodies here to stock up on for Christmas. Sorry for the hot temps, we’re finally getting 70s and 80s in N.C. One of my beading friends who lives in Texas has been dealing with the 100s last I heard. That has to be so awful. I can barely tolerate 90s. Thank goodness they appear to be gone until next summer.

We have dropped from 102 or 103 degrees to a mere 98. We are under water restrictions to the point we can only water between 7 pm to 7 am twice a week and have been told to conserve electricity by raising our thermometers to between 80 to 90°. Yuck! This pick reminds me of how I feel—–red hot!
