How to set a Nunn Design Glass Dome
About this Tip:
Using Nunn Design Glass Domes in these beautiful earthy jewel tones is a great way to make a quick but elegant embellishment or focal for any design. The clear glass domes are a simple way of adding the doming effect of resin without the resin, and you only need 3 things - a Nunn Design bezel & a glass dome, and Lima Studios Crystal Clear 5-Minute Epoxy.
Use clear domes to cover images, metal stampings, or a little bit of painted color--or all three! Remember to seal any paper or images before using them in your project. Glue the sealed images directly to the back of the dome. Then glue the whole domed piece to the bezel.
Components:
The products featured in this tip are listed below.
Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step 1: Dispense an equal amount of both parts of Lima Studios Crystal Clear 5-Minute Epoxy on an index card (a dab will do). Then stir the two parts together with a toothpick or stir stick. See tip: Using Epoxy with Cabs and Settings |

Step 2: Place a small drop of the mixed epoxy into the center of the bezel using your stir stick. |
![]() |
Step 3: Place your Nunn Design glass dome in the Nunn Design bezel. |
![]() |
Step 4: Press gently but securely down on the glass dome while the epoxy sets (about 5 minutes). Masking tape can be used if you're not able to secure it manually. |

Step 5: Once your epoxy has set, you are free to add this finished piece to any design. |

Yaffa B says:1. 2 of your readers asked you the same question I would like to know the answer to: (a) Nata S, on Nov 24, 2014, and Batticat, on Feb 23, 2015. So, I am the THIRD person, the SAME question: How do you SEAL a piece of paper?
2. Do you sell Nunn Design colored glass domes like the one you use in these instructions?
3. Do Nunn Design bezels come also in silver color, and do you sell them?
4. Do you sell the kidney shaped ear wires in GOLD color
and in SILVER color?

Moogie says:You would get an answer in a day or two if you just copy what you asked above and paste on the “contact our team” form, located under Customer Service at the top right of every page. Since this technique was presented a couple of years ago, maybe they don’t check comments now? But I get quick service when I use the info I just gave you. Good luck! My experience with Lima Beads customer service has always been A+++ 100!!

Moogie says:Hey, I just saw a video where they used Mod Podge to seal paper before using resin. They coated the front & back several times, allowing it to dry between coats. Hope this helps answer at least one question!
