“Hunker Down”

Description from EPBCornell: In an ominous mood. Expecting a storm, or a siege, to ride out. But I have hope; I will get through whatever may come. I do not have to fear. I belong to the Lord, who is with me.

Liz, It is a day-to-day and even moment-by-moment battle isn’t it? To try to keep our head above the rising tide & our heart out of the muck….. An intangible battle, but very real.
BUT we know WHO wins the war & how the story joyfully ends! This, and ALL it means is the life line that keeps me going…
Rest in His arms & hang on tight girlfriend!

I’m with you all in this. Between our own battles with health, the possibility of the new health concern, family issues and those without jobs now, the Lord is doing battle in every direction on our behalf. Wonderful pick and definitely a POD.

    Sorry, comment didn’t go through.
I love deep red and grey together, but not just the color combo, I love the whole pick and the description.

There is beauty in the darkness if we can only see it. Your pick illustrates that. Rest in the Lord, He will see you through!

Liz, your pick definitely depicts what is happening in our world today. I share your anxiety. Living alone with only my furbaby the days become long and boring. It makes it easier to feel anxious or depressed. Keep your faith. It is what helps get me through also. I try to go to a drive thru once a week, just to get my furbaby out for a ride and to see something besides the 4 walls in my house. Out of 3 doctors appointments in as many weeks, 2 are still telephone appointments. It is hard for a dermatologist to not see his patients in person. I praise God for every time I leave my house and return without contracting Covid.

I echo all above. It’s good to have the fellowship of faith and heartfelt support on these pages. EPBCornell, I feel your sense of dread every day. Prayer and hope are my strongest weapons. And finding joy in unexpected places. Take care, friends. <3

Thanks, everyone, for sharing in this. It seemed very lonely where I was, making this, and I felt small trying to act stouter than I was. It is reassuring to hear I’m not the only one sometimes struggling with this heavy unease now, trying to remind myself to trust God and not to fear. Thank you for the reminder we are none of us alone in these feelings. It is a comfort to know everyone else knows and understands, although I am sorry anyone else should have to feel the same weight.
