“Japanese Garden”

Description from Kathryn R: The past few days have marked the somber anniversary of the atomic bombing of two Japanese cities that ended World War II. To honor those who lost their lives, I've picked elements of a Japanese Garden: A place of peace with a path that circumvents the garden, A decorative footbridge over a tranquil pond where koi fish swim, Green willows along the pond's edge inviting birds and dragonflies. Also a sparkling waterfall and creek that flows into the pond. Accentuating the prayer for peace are one thousand origami cranes.

Chali-o, that’s what I was going for. Tried to find something that gave a waterfall effect.

This is so lovely. I missed this the first time around. I loved your description. Although its sad to think of, its very heartening to think of your description of a very hopeful place to walk in and be in.

I too missed it the first time around. Congratulations on your POD, which is calming and happy, though honoring those who sadly were the victims of war. I like the prayer for peace. And I love all the fish, some of which I have already purchased. We have a small pond, and our waterlily has grown so much that we are looking for a (local) new home for some of its offshoots, which flowered in the small tub they are in. A friend gave me cuttings of curly willow, and I have them growing in a container. We also have bamboo in containers. My yard isn’t a Japanese garden, but it has some of the elements. Your pick is very inspiring.
