There’s so much research being done that shows that even if dogs don’t work for us as they once did, they have changed so that now they are socially and emotionally significant, if not necessary to their owners. Now that’s adaptation! Bravo to all the dogs out there and to their family members. (I won’t use the word “owners”.)
