“Mystic magination night”

Description from Kimberlywilliams60: I figured I would share a poem pick also

On one mystic, magic night,
Jack O Lanterns glowing bright,
kids with bags of candy sweet,
roam door to door and street to street,
all dressed up for trick or treat!

Wizards with wands, pirates with hooks,
monsters and clowns with spooky looks,

kings and queens with capes and crowns,
a princess in her royal gown,

witches with warts and fairies with wings
movies stars with sparkling rings,

vampires with fangs that bite,
ghost that boo all dressed in white.

Imaginations taken flight,
on that one mystic, magic night.

Kimberly, this is a mystic pick for that magical night. In Iowa it was usually a cool night. However, I remember a night it was downright cold. That meant a change in costume for trick or treating. I had to wear my heavy winter coat over my costume or change to be a ghost with my coat under my costume. Of course, I changed to be a ghost.

What a great pick and a fun poem- brings back many fun memories from childhood Halloween days!(nights) (My sister and I kept our Halloween candy stash under our beds in bins- Mom insisted that we only have 1 piece a day- but it was usually all gone by the end of the week!!)

Oh goodness Pam !! You just brought back memories for me with that story …. I live in ny and One year it was actually spitting snow I remember crying because my mom put a coat over my costume that night and I was a ballerina that year I had a sparkly purple tutu and the coat hid everything ….a ghost would have been a great idea !! Phoenix your mom had some serious trust in you girls my mom had to hide mine Ha :)

So FUN, Kimberly! I’ve got bags of candy ready and am looking forward to seeing the costumed children in your wonderful poem and pick! Halloween is on a Sunday this year. In 1991 my blonde 7 yr old daughter was determined to be a Hula girl with an outfit her cousins from Hawaii gave her. We had a blizzard that evening with over a foot of snow. She wore 3 layers and moon boots under her dyed-green grass skirt that bled green all over her double layer pink tights! She was a happy tho drenched Hula Girl with a bucket full of treats when she got home.
