Congrats on another strong, designer-friendly POD, Creel U! I’m still enamored of this night traveller concept, whether choosing to go by night for speed or secrecy, or just to avoid the bustle, either willing to assume the risk of danger trusting one’s wile, guile or skill to evade it, or desperate enough to trust luck alone. Or perhaps searching for the unusual adventures that only happen after midnight. I used to do my best, most efficient work (whether art or study or reports) between 1am & dawn, and still possibly feel most sharp & focused when I have to get up to do road testing at 2-4am when there isn’t traffic to interfere. In college I would relish the walks back across an empty campus from studying in a friend’s dorm at the south side to my own room at the north at 4am, still alert to every detail, the sound of the grit on the sidewalk under the rubber soles of my brown leather shoes, my own breathing, the cold smell of the dry fall air with faint sooty city and traces of leaf & mulch scents mixed in, the stark contrast of light & shadow where streetlamps and the lights on buildings reach the limits of their coverings or an illuminated surface turns an abrupt corner. I even used to pull all-nighters in middle school, as far back as 6th grade. I think I got a √++++++++++++ on a project I did one of those nights. I’m so sleepy all day these days anyways that maybe I should just try staying up all night a few times a month again! Do some night traveling.
Creel U, how are your gift projects coming along & everything else, if I may ask? How many of those calico kitties were you planning to make & what were you filling them with? (In spite of my outpouring, last couple of weeks were awful for me & fall is often not good for me. You – or any LB friends here!- can also text me privately if you ever want to chat 401-626-7383.)
