MH says:This is such a gorgeous pick!! I saw Showboat at the theater years ago and I remember the actor sitting at the edge of the stage singing “Old Man River”- it was breathtaking! This is a terrific depiction of a river. It brings to mind crossing the Mississippi.

Kathryn R says:I was born and raised in a rivertown – on The Muddy Mo. So your pick has special meaning for me. It’s a beautiful blend of sky blues reflected on muddy green water. Paul Robeson was an acclaimed African American actor/singer and attorney who was blacklisted during the McCarthy era. He was one of the civil rights pioneers in America. The poignant song he sings mentions the injustices of the Jim Crow era.
