Description from CAS: Years ago I lived in an old lumber mill manager's house, and planted on three sides around the house were these old lilacs. They were HUGE, their tops reached the bottoms of the 2nd floor windows. In spring all I had to do was open the window to fill the house with their scent. On spring days when the grass isn't yet fully green and old leaves are in the corners of the yard I just think about those open windows.

dolllady aka Pam says:I can smell them now! My mom turned me into a flower “borrower” with lilacs. We would drive the alleys and “borrow” some lilacs from friends and neighbors. You created a lovely scene for lilacs.

CAS says:I rented the house from a doctor I worked with. It was slightly drafty, none of the wide pine board floors were even, the windows either stuck or wouldn’t stay open, the basement was part dirt floor (muddy when it rained) with rock walls the mice loved, and the kitchen had no counters or cabinets to speak of, but the two years I lived there were great. I would have lived there longer if it hadn’t been sold. I miss those lilacs … sigh ….
