“River rock hop”

Description from Kimberlywilliams60: Thinking about my favorite summer past time as a kid ....my neighbors and I would hop from rock to rock trying not to get soaked in the river that ran behind my childhood home ....I had a day off finally and the air quality is horrendous so I am inside daydreaming about that river and daydreaming about how fun it would be to create a monthly bead box and what themes would be fun to get ? What would be your favorite theme for August? I am daydreaming.... wondering if Lima beads would ever consider making one and daydreaming I would be one of the first in line if they did :)

A river rock bracelet would be so cool, with that adorable frog button for a clasp. What a wonderful childhood memory.

I agree totally agree with Melody! Many of my growing up years were spent on the bank of a creek that can between our house and the service station on the other side. Unfortunately, I never went down it. I was a reader during those years. I got my rocks from the railroad tracks half a block away or the museum.

Fun pick – really looks like a river – and I loved reading about your childhood. Maybe a Peridot box would be good for August.

What a wonderful memory to revisit in daydream! I also had a small river and smaller creek in my back yard growing up, but more tree-trunk crossings than stepping stones to test our balance. A good little pond or mud hole, too, depending on the rain & weather, for catching frogs (& trying to avoid snakes). I love all the beautiful river stones in your pick, coral branch like spongy algal river greenery, mucky river frog & dragon bug, and I think the themed bead box idea is brilliant. It makes me think of episodes of Chopped on the Food Network where the different chefs all get various random ingredients and have to use them to come up with something delicious. I have enough hoarded beads at this point that I could probably start a bead box club with some interesting combinations, but I’m sure if I started putting things together for one theme of another I’d find more things I’d want to add that I don’t have yet, or have enough of for everyone!

Excellent idea and wonderful memories for day dreaming. I would gladly send a bead box to anyone! Scads and scads of beads which will never again see the light of day … how sad!

Congrats on your POD! I have a question for you. How long are the strands on your lariat necklace?

Great idea and terrific matching pieces. I think we all have some wonderful memories to draw from in this awful time. Things used to be so clean, logical and fun when we were young. There were no bad air days, stay inside because you shouldn’t be breathing in the smoke outside. I know memories that always brighten my days.
