“Rose Demise”

Description from Granny Nancy: We've had our first really hard freeze here in the sunny south and our beautiful deep pink roses are now rusty roses like the Healey copper roses. I will miss them. A few will peak thru occasionally but we'll have to wait for early Spring for a "bouquet."

Sorry to hear about the roses disappearing already! Your pick certainly reflects the event.
Unbelievable, but this is the time of year that the Turk’s Cap (a small flower similar to a hibiscus that never completely opens) outside my kitchen window blooms its heart out.

This is such an accurate depiction of how gardens look after the freeze! The colors and textures you’ve chosen are just perfect, and also beautiful together. Love it, a fave and HFAPOD!

Sad, but so very beautiful too.
Delicate………reminds me of a dried flower arrangement.

They had continued to hold up their heads proudly although the bright pink color was gone but with many nights of bitter cold they have gone into hibernation of sorts as their blossoms are bent into a sleeping shape.

You have perfectly represented the roses – - faded but still lovely. Congrats on your POD, Nancy !

Sad when flowers are done in by the cold, but you’ve captured a more subtle beauty here. Congrats on POD, Nancy! And wishing you many beautiful things to appreciate in the year to come!
