“Rose garden dilemma...”

Description from J Yee smart chick: Okay, I am experimenting with color palettes again, and would like to make another lariat necklace using the same design I learned in my beading class last week -

Only this time, I am pondering whether to use the powder rose crystal pearls, or some of the green ones, with olive seed beads, or some of the "green tea" ones, either olive fire polished or pink fire polished - for a rose garden effect... or, I could use some rose pink seed beads with the powder rose pearls... and then the olive fire polished... and with brass spacers of course...

Well now, that is a dilemma! All of these colors work well together. I think you are just going to have to “play”! Good luck and have fun. ;)

Thank you Gina – I also made a “color scouting” expedition to a local bead shop today, to further check out the colors of the crystal pearls I’m considering for this color combo – both the dark and light green pearls have a warm tint to them, and look like they would work okay with the powder rose ones… finding czech fire polished that matches the soft powder rose was a bit more challenging… I managed NOT to purchase anything today, whew!! ;)

All your possible combos sound fabulous, Joyce! Be sure to let us know what you choose. This pick is so soft and lovely, too! :D

BTW, I am VERY impressed with your restraint at the LBS!!! I’m sure your wallet and credit card are thanking you! LOL ;)

Thank you Alice, Lynn and Janet -

and in regards to your questions, no I haven’t yet, partly because I’m awaiting my order of the powder rose crystal pearls, and partly because I’m trying to make it thru these last few weeks till the Puget Sound Bead Fest the second weekend of July – don’t wanna go BACK TO Bead Prison if I can help it!!

However, I do like these subdued olive greens more than I originally thought… you all know how difficult it is to choose a good color palette when using seed beads, since they come in soooo many varieties of colors and finishes – makes it much more difficult to decide! And, I am also waiting to go to the bead fest, to look at the vendors w/ seed beads – think I’ll make some decisions then, when I see more seed beads in person, and can compare – I also might like to mix the rose pearls w/ some cream seed beads instead… ;)

Well chickies – looking at the rose pink crystal pearls, I am leaning towards using fire polished rounds (or rondelles) that are two toned pink/green, and reallllllly light colored seed beads – I found some recently that are named “celery” – ;)
