Sealing Porous Materials for Use in Resin

About this Tip:

When using porous materials like paper, photos, and other natural materials in your resin, it’s necessary to seal them. If you don’t adequately seal them, the resin will soak in and create staining.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step 1:
When using porous materials like paper, photos, and other natural materials in your resin, it’s necessary to seal them. If you don’t adequately seal them, the resin will soak in and create staining.
Step 2:
It is very important to cover your entire piece of paper front, back and edges with the craft glue.
Step 3:
Once you have brushed glue onto the back of the bezel and placed your paper, press around the edges and middle using a toothpick. The final step in this placement is to brush glue over the paper one last time, making sure to brush it into the corners.
Step 4:
Once the glue has dried you can pour in your resin.
