SilverSilk Basics
SilverSilk knits are strong, supple, and free-flowing knits made from enameled copper wire. SilverSilk is made in the USA, and can be used to add beauty and texture to a big range of designs.

Using 3 Needle (1.5 mm Round)
The three needle knit is amongst the most popular of the SilverSilk line due to its versatility and simplicity. It’s easy to slide beads onto and very easy to finish. To crimp, draw down the ends of the knit and slide a crimp over one end, then loop into your clasp and bring pack through your crimp. Rather than using crimping pliers, simply press down on crimp with needle nose pliers and put 4mm crimp cover over for a neat, clean appearance to your ends. To make finishing the 3 Needle (1.5 mm Round) knit very easy, finish with a 1.4 mm Crimp End.
Using 4 Needle (2.2 mm Flat)
SilverSilk 4 Needle can be manipulated by threading a wire right through the center to shape it into spirals, loops or strands for braiding. To finish ends, you can keep it simple & use 2mm end cord/crimp end fasteners.
Using 8 Needle (4.8mm Flat)
The 8 Needle wire is a little wider at almost 5mm, so ribbon crimp ends work great when making bracelets and necklaces. The knit fits inside the mouth of the ribbon crimp end and using nylon jaws pliers, crimp down on ends to close.
Cleaning SilverSilk
Cleaning SilverSilk is easy–just give it a gentle cleaning with a soft cloth!

M Henry says:Does this material “catch” in your hair? Seems as though earrings or a necklace might get caught in hair strands but I’ve never used it.

Ali says:I haven’t had any trouble with hair catching in this chain. It has a really nice feel when you wear it as a necklace. Hope that helps.

Batticat says:I ordered the 2.2 mm flat silversilk in a beautiful pale gold and was so delighted to discover that it is very soft and flexible like satin ribbon. I would like to make a necklace with a Swarovski wild heart pendant and attach a some smaller bicones maybe by stitching along the silversilk.
Question: I would like to use a crimp to loop each end thru a closed jump ring rather than using a cord end. Would this work?
