“Singing Toady”

Description from Elis Mom: I am here licking my wounds from the last week, and the passing of a friend. It's a nice night, and all of the windows are open. There is a tree frog with quite the voice chirping away somewhere. We have plenty of fauna in our yard, and I know all of their voices. This guy is new, and several blocks away. And he is very proud at that! I hope he takes up residence here!
As a footnote, sometimes I like to lay down in the back bedroom...You can hear the singing much more clearly. Such a wonderful lulliby!

A beautiful, restful green pick… do toads sing? Perhaps this is a late-blooming spring peeper? Whatever it is, it will be a good neighbour.

Oh I just do love the chorus of nature out side. …..I can just hear it now so soothing. Where are you that you can hear them? your pick is so life like.

We have a variety of frogs/toads in the yard. I don’t know who is doing the most “singing”. Sounds like chirping. I was in the craft room with the windows open last night when I did this pick.

excellent mix of greens and textures. I am guessing the fat toad in your pick is the one singing. I am in Minnesota where we had 4 inches of snow yesterday and our toads have been hibernating for a month at least. You should get a “Toad Abode”, any ceramic or clay house or overturned pot with an entrance hole. They love to hide and live in them and from there they will take care of any slugs on your plants. I love nature, I am a biologist. Can I come visit your yard?? :)

You absolutely may! I’m turning over pots as we speak! ;)
