dolllady aka Pam says:Judy, congrats on your stunning POD! My late grandfather would love that you used thistle. When Iowa and Kansas chose state flowers, Iowa chose the wild rose and the thistle became the state obnoxious weed. That upset Kansas who named their choices the opposite. Iowa farmers would destroy the thistle and Kansas farmers destroyed the wild rose. I loved both flowers. My grandfather did too. He never killed either one. He went one step further and had bristles engraved on his side of his and grandma’s headstone. She had wild roses.
