“The Winds Of Fate”

Description from Beady Little Eyes: The Winds Of Fate

Ella Wheeler Wilcox

One ship drives east and another drives west
With the selfsame winds that blow.
Tis the set of the sails
And not the gales
Which tells us the way to go.
Like the winds of the seas are the ways of fate,
As we voyage along through the life:
Tis the set of a soul
That decides its goal,
And not the calm or the strife.

Good lesson in that poem. The same beads given to different beaders will end up in different works of bead-art. One sees pyramids, one sees triangles, and one sees sails on a sea of beads.

This is a wonderful poem, especially in these trying times of Covid. You created a lovely pick to go with the poem.

Beautiful, thoughtful pick, Beady! It reminds me of a saying: “A skillful sailor does not a calm sea make.” Something my Navy vet husband knows well. :)

Thanks everyone. Kathryn – I love your saying. Yes Melody – everyone has a different vision. It so fun to see where each of us goes. So glad you like the poem Pam.
