Using a Hand Punch


About this Tip:

Punching holes in metal blanks is a piece of cake with a pair of hole punch pliers. Read on to find out how!

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step 1:
Insert a metal blank into your hole punch pliers.
Step 2:
Pinch pliers until you have punched your hole through the blank.
Step 3:
Release pliers and gently wiggle the blank off the punch.

    Would these pliers also work on thin wood sheets?

    I haven’t tried the thin wood sheets myself, but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work, probably the thinner the better. I think it would be fine on a veneer thin wood sheet, but using these punches on wood might wear them down faster.
