Description from CAS: A brief history of “Chick” or “Chicky”
I am one of the two “chicks” that started the whole thing. Anita (Anita QoG Funny Chick) and I started it all joking around one day in late January of 2009 (I’ve tried looking for the exact pick that started it, but haven’t been able to find it … yet). A pick got us reminiscing about the 60′s and 70′s, and one of us called the other a “groovy chick”. After that when we chatted we’d call each other “groovy chick”, “slick chick” etc… and it stuck. I became Chicky Babe, and Anita became Funny Chick. Soon Mary (Sweet Chick), Ivy (Cuban Queen Crazy Chick), Elaine (Belly Chick), Lynn Eileen (Chicky LE), Joyce (Smart Chick), Becky (Puppy Chick), and many others to numerous to name, as they’d say on T.V. joined in. The Easter Egg hunt that year spurred it on, and LB acknowledged our “chickiness” and the CHICKDOM was born!

Does anyone know how the missing chickies are doing? Anita, Lynn Eileen, Ivy and so many others…I look around now and then for activity from them and wonder how they’re doing. I saw a few during the Egg hunt this year.

puppychick labratbecky says:I’m barely a chick but they welcomed me as a latecomer.
I’ve seen some of the old shenanigans and they were fun! Lynn Eileen is still on facebook and Ivy hangs around here once in awhile (Hi, Ivy!) There was also Maria (NY Bella) and Delta Chick (Gina). Crazy Chick (Frida) had her dog Zammy wearing sunglasses as her avatar.
As long as we all want to have fun everyone is a chick.

While I cannot find the Fresh Pick, I have narrowed the date down to sometime in March of 2009. Hoping someone can truly find the original thread!
