Oh yeah!! Great idea, Frida!! Love your choice of wheels! Those are my favorite rhodonite beads ever! :)

  2. Crazy Beader
    Crazy Beader says:

Fabulous shades of pink and coral together – - another intriguing pick !

  3. Frida
    Frida says:

    Thank you Becky and Paula!

So how could we pull this off?

  4. puppychick labratbecky
    puppychick labratbecky says:

I could make some jewelry with dog charms for my show coming up and put up a little sign that those are a fundraiser for Dixie and then send Susie the proceeds from that group of jewelry. I have lots of pet charms so I should be able to sell a few, I think. That would be my small contribution. (and of course, maybe send a bead tassel for Susie to use for pimping purposes.) :)

  5. Frida
    Frida says:

Ohh that would be a great thing to do Becky! We have a saying here in Sweden “Många beckar små” “Many small brooks/rivers” Small contributions can make a huge difference!

I can make a pendant/design/bracelet/something to sell. Or something I alredy have made… Hmm need to slep on this I think!

  6. Frida
    Frida says:

Of course the bead tassle is a awesome thing ;)

  7. foxhill designs vt
    foxhill designs vt says:

Great pick! I don’t have any shows coming up, so no sales. :(

  8. Medieval Momma
    Medieval Momma says:

I don’t have any shows till May, but I think this is a great idea and so sweet of you. I hope Dixie gets her wheels soon. And I love the pick too!

  9. Elis Mom
    Elis Mom says:

Oh Frida! You are such a kind and wonderful soul! I don’t know what to say…
I am more motivated than ever to get Dix her wheels! I feel blessed to have such wonderful friends here!

  10. OK Jacki
    OK Jacki says:

I’m in. Will be working on a few pieces in Miss Dixie’s honor tomorrow! Together, I’m certain the LB community can come together to help get her those flasy wheels. :-)

  11. OK Jacki
    OK Jacki says:

    BTW, Frida, perfect pick! ;-)

  12. Frida
    Frida says:

Thank you Jolene, Medieval Momma, Susie and Jacki!

Ohh perfect Jacki, thank you so super much!!! Hope Cal is feeling better?

Jolene and Medieval Momma, I feel you, you can support through coatching and kind word. Not always one can contribute with money. You might get another idea, and then it’s welcome :D

Me don’t either have shows so I have to figure something else out. One of my thoughts is, if any of my designs is easy and worth to sell? Then I will donate a design…? What do you think? A actoun would be fun :)

Through helping each other I think we make a change :D And remeber don’t feel bad if you can’t help with money or material things now.

  13. Deb Harding
    Deb Harding says:

Such a beautiful and meaningful pick Frida. Apparently I have missed some further conversations regarding Dixie and her potential wheels? If I can think of a way to help Susie you know I will.

  14. Frida
    Frida says:

Deb, I know you will!! I know you having lots to do with your kitties and being without work. (Me too haven’t work so my parents takes care of me and I “help” them). I will donate a design to you too, and hopefully help with some money for kitties :) Kudos to you!! Hope baby cats will make it!

  15. Elis Mom
    Elis Mom says:

An auction would be fun, Frida! I think your designs are beautiful, creative, and fun.
I didn’t have a show for a couple of months, but an opportunity came up for next weekend…so I have lots to do. The venue isn’t that great, tho. I was thinking of opening an Etsy shop…
Frida, thank you so much for your love and support of Miss Dix. It means the world to have such a wonderful friend!

  16. Frida
    Frida says:

You so welcome Susie :) Thank you for your kind words about my designs. I have a account on Etzy but hasn’t dared to put something up to sell yet. I try to come up with the easiest solution, concerning that I’m in Swe. I have a paypal account too I think LOL

  17. puppychick labratbecky
    puppychick labratbecky says:

Etsy is my goal eventually, too. Frida and Susie, I know your stuff would sell! I am wondering if there would be a way to do a joint Etsy shop so no one person feels pressured to produce.

  18. Elis Mom
    Elis Mom says:

Actually, Becky, I was wondering the same thing. I have heard of shared accounts.

  19. J Yee smart chick
    J Yee smart chick says:

Frida, what a lovely idea to support miss Dixie, and I also like the idea of a joint Etsy account, I would like to make some bead tassels to contribute also, since I have many potential color palettes to use, thanks to everyone’s kind comments as I kept pondering possible color combos – maybe I could make her one with one of those lovely smoky moon beads, for instance – but will definitely think about how to incorporate some kind of dog/pet charm into it!! 8)

  20. Frida
    Frida says:

The last thing I want is that any of you feel pressure to do this, and I don’t think Susie wants that either :)

Thank you super much Joyce!! So kind of you!

Joint account, hmm sound like a good idea.

  21. Elis Mom
    Elis Mom says:

    Thanks Joyce!

Frida is right, no one need to feel any pressure. We’re just figuring out how to get Dix her wheels. Prayer and virtual hugs are always great!

I agree with the joint account idea.

  22. Asia
    Asia says:

Count me in, whatever you girls decide is fine with me :D

  23. Frida
    Frida says:

Thank you very much Asia, thats awesome and welcome on board :D

  24. Lynn Eileen Chicky LE
    Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:

Susie, I evidently missed the news about sweet Dixie, so I went back to look at your recent picks. Now I’m caught up.

I’m sooooo sorry to hear about Dixie’s medical problems. Any update from her vet?

Frida, this is such a clever pick to show Susie & Dixie our support! I’ll also do something to help out! We Chickies are also here for anyone who needs us!!! :D

Sending lots of love & hugs to Susie, Dixie, & also Eli — wouldn’t want him to feel left out….. ;)

  25. Lynn Eileen Chicky LE
    Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:

Forgot to ask — Susie, how did Dixie injure her spine?

  26. Frida
    Frida says:

Thank you super much, Lynn! Great :D

  27. Frida
    Frida says:

Now I have looked a lil bit on Etsy rules about a joined account and shop. It’s important that the stuff one sells are made of those having the account. So ladies do you think we should do that. I think it can work.

  28. Elis Mom
    Elis Mom says:

Frida, I think it could work, too! We all get in on the account and place items for sale. We could give it a name of some sort..”The Chicky Jewelry Foundation”, or something. If we do well, we could even use the funds to help others in need!

  29. puppychick labratbecky
    puppychick labratbecky says:

I love that idea! So whoever’s piece sells, they send it to the buyer and the proceeds go into a joint acount that we can decide as a group who to donate it to. I don’t have the computer skills or time to manage it but I will certainly make pieces to sell on it for fundraising!

  30. Elis Mom
    Elis Mom says:

I would think we would need someone to be in charge of the site, and alert us to a sale, so we could ship the item. Proceeds would go right into the fund, I would think.

Becky, if you can post on LB, you can post on ETSY. You;re already a pro!

  31. Lynn Eileen Chicky LE
    Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:

Just let me know what I need to do to list something! :)

  32. Frida
    Frida says:

Exellent! I will look futher into today :D

  33. Frida
    Frida says:

Reading some more. About “charitable listings and shops” there are some rules. Would be great if you read Site Policies :)

  34. Frida
    Frida says:

One need to open a account and then become incharge of the shop.
The money goes to a joined place. Think there are some advantages being lookated in the states. Saw one member from a collective shop that wrote that they related to all listed stuff as owned by all in the shop, so to minimize trouble about that part.
I can’t totally grasp the “laws” of “charitable listings and shops”. Another way to go is to not merchandising the shop as such, I guess that there is no problems donating owned money??

  35. puppychick labratbecky
    puppychick labratbecky says:

I’ll take a look at the rules and get back to you later. I have today off because I worked the weekend but I have a few errands to run first. Thanks for looking for us, Frida!!

  36. Elis Mom
    Elis Mom says:

Frida, thanks for all you do! I haven’t looked at Etsy yet…Dix is needing some extra care the last few days….but I am with you. If one decides to donate owned money, then that’s their perogative.

I’m trying to put together some pieces for the shop when it’s ready. Some with Lucite!

  37. Frida
    Frida says:

One need a email connected to the shop.

There gonna be one owner and the other people can have different stuff to do within the shop.
My proposal is that one of you in the states is the owner because then people can pay with credit cards, which not possible here. What do you think?

I guess one open a paypal account for the shop or is there a easier way?

    Susie hug Dix from me!

Maybe Susie wants to be the owner?

I tries to kick my own shop to start working throught that I learn a lot.

Feels that this gonna start rings on the water :D

  38. Asia
    Asia says:

I think that Susie should be the owner, had no time to look at Etsy rules myself(extra busy), thank you Frida for taking the time to do it :D :D :D

  39. Frida
    Frida says:

Susie what do you think? ;) and you other ladies ???

  40. Elis Mom
    Elis Mom says:

I can be the owner. I haven’t been able to look at all the details on Etsy yet… but I have a basic knowledge of how it works.
Setting up a Paypal account would work, as well as accepting credit cards. I would guess that photos of pieces would be emailed to me, so I could post them online? I need to read up some more.
Dix has had a few bad days this week. I changed things up a bit, and she seems to be resting comfortably at the moment(at last!). She also has a UTI. I am waiting for her antibiotics to arrive from the mail order pharmacy. Takes so long!

  41. puppychick labratbecky
    puppychick labratbecky says:

Poor Dixie! Hope she feels better soon!

Susie, I would love it if you know your way around Etsy and could take ownership! I will help whatever way possible but I am not very computer or business savvy and I would not want to make a mistake.

Frida, thank you so much for investigating and pushing us to do this! I think this is fantastic! I love your analogy of rings on the water! I am always looking for ways to help and the more people who work together, the better!

  42. puppychick labratbecky
    puppychick labratbecky says:

I have a friend here who can help with page design. She is very good at it. I can email her suggestions to you. She has just started a photography business and I have been making props for her, little diaper covers, ties, tutus, etc. for the newborns and small kids she photographs. She will help me help you.

  43. Elis Mom
    Elis Mom says:

Thanks Becky! Poor Dix has allergies, and twice a year she starts itching like crazy. We’ve had a warm, dry winter, so it’s worse with all the pollen. She’s tearing herself up, and as she takes Rymadil, the vets don’t want to give her any steroids, which help alot. What do you sacrifice, pain control or itching? I’ve doubled her fish oils, added coconut oil and Claritin. Bathing her daily with oatmeal. She is better tonight. Haven’t gotten any beading done for Sunday. Will go with what I have.

  44. Elis Mom
    Elis Mom says:

Beckers, any and all help is immensley appreciated! Thanks to you and your friend!

Frida, I love the rings on the water analogy! AND, there are some beads here at Lima that fit! Looking to order some! Without you, we wouldn’t even be talking about this. Thank you!

  45. Lynn Eileen Chicky LE
    Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:

Frida — We’re getting some fantastic ideas here! Someone please keep me up-to-date so I can contribute.

Also, we need a contact person for anyone who wants to donate money — instead of or in addition to jewelry.

Susie, I wish so much that I lived closer to you. I’d be happy to come over & ease some of your stress by caring for Dixie or Eli or you! Instead, I can only send my prayers and huge virtual hugs!!!

  46. Frida
    Frida says:

    Thanks for the inputs :)

According to this one can list its own stuff in the shop.
“•Two jewelers share a collective Etsy shop, but they create and list their own jewelry items in the shop.”

I think as long as it is correctly described what each member does they can have dif. roles in the shop? The main thing is that the owner is responsible fot the activities of the shop. Important to describe how we know each other and if one have another account/shop on etsy that must be shown too.

I think it is great if the name shows a bit of our backgound here at LB for ex: “The chickies Jewelry”.
Another thing I have been thinking of is,if we want to do more charitable work it’s good to have a system of how to agree :) Owner being the chair(wo)man?

I’m super happy that Susie wants to be the owner.

Becky, help from your friends sounds fab! If she wanna!

Lynn we will absolutly keep you up to date :)

Susie thanks for update on Dixie! Hug to you and Dix n Eli :)

    Must rush…

  47. Asia
    Asia says:

:D Need to start working this weekend, happy that Susie will be the owner, Becky it will be so nice of your friend to give us a hand, Lynn i put the pick in the faves this way I can always check what is going on, Frida thank you again for all your hard work!!!

  48. OK Jacki
    OK Jacki says:

Susie, and all, I am in. I am not extremely familiar with Etsy rules and/or charitable rules…but, I am a software consultant (my day job), and if I can’t figure it out, I am surrounded by computer ‘geeks’. LOL I will be happy to help in any way I can. Susie, I will message you here at LB (check your messages on ‘Find Beaders’) with my personal email & phone #. Feel free to email or call. Hugs to Miss Dix. Thanks, Frida, for beginning the ripple! :-)

  49. Lynn Eileen Chicky LE
    Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:

Frida, many thanks again for getting us started on this wonderful project — as Jacki said, “beginning the ripple”! :D

Asia, thanks for the tip. I just added this to my fave picks! :D

  50. Julie Shane
    Julie Shane says:

    Hi everyone,
I’m just getting caught up on the new ideas. I’m in for sure!!!
Susie, Hugs and prayers to you and the pups.

  51. Elis Mom
    Elis Mom says:

Wow! So much to catch up on!

First, thanks to all, especially Frida, for starting the ripple on the water!

I haved added this pick to my favs as well. Thanks for the tip, Asia!

As far as more charitible work, I’m all in! There is so much we can do, just have to figure out how to accomplish what we want.

How do we list items in the shop? Email the photos to me and I post them, and give credit where it’s due? Need to do some reading this weekend.

Becky and Jacki, thanks to you and your friends for help with the site!

The Chickee’s Jewelry sounds good to me!

Lynn, Thanks so much! Dix and I have quite a morning ritual these days, that involves meds, food, bathing…to be repeated in the PM. I hope we can meet one day. In the meantime, me and Dix will bask in the glow of virtual hugs!

    Hi Julie!

Thanks to all involved. I am truly blessed to have such wonderful friends!

  52. puppychick labratbecky
    puppychick labratbecky says:

I like “The Chickies’ Jewelry” as well.

My friend, Amber, and I looked at some Etsy shops yesterday to get a feel for what people do. We can do a title/shop name design. We can add pictures of each of us, a description, and an explanation of how we met and what we are trying to accomplish.

Each of you start searching for a photo to represent yourself, it can be of you, your kids, your furkids, etc. Please also think about what you would write about yourself if you could do a one paragraph blurb. And we also need a paragraph or 2 of how we met and what the purpose of our shop is.

Amber will help us get this set up if we need her to. Jacki, I didn’t know you were a geek! :) We can certainly have you check into Etsy’s site-specific designs to set up our shop. Listen to me sounding all techie here. I have no idea what I am doing! :)

My 2nd daughter is going to school for a 3rd degree–this one in graphic design–so we can pick here brain, too, if we need to.

I am so excited about this!! Charity starts at home in the heart. All it takes is a drop in the ocean to start the wave felt around the world. :)

  53. Frida
    Frida says:

Glad you are with us Julie!! Thank you so much :D

Susie in a collective shop the members can list their own stuff, as I understood it.

Thank you Becky and your friend for your work, it’s truly appreciated.

Jacki, happy to have you on board. Also we can need your geek knowledge ;)

  54. Elis Mom
    Elis Mom says:

Then “The Chickies Jewelry” it is!

Becky, if Amber could help with site design, that would be great! Same for Jacki!

I pretty much know what photo I would use and what I would say about myself…who would like to write about who we are as a collective, and what we intend to do with our shop?
I will read up this weekend on the Etsy particulars. Dix has needed some extra TLC, so I haven’t done my homework…then I guess we’ll be ready to go? Do I set up the site, or should Becky, Amber, Jacki start it up?

  55. Frida
    Frida says:

My biggest question right now is if we use the shop as a charity shop public?

A list of participants for the shop:

    Forgotten any?

  56. puppychick labratbecky
    puppychick labratbecky says:

Susie, can you set it up in stages without opening it until we are done? If so, you could begin. Let us know what you need help with and/or capture a page and post it here so we can see it, or, if you didn’t mind, you could give Jacki or Amber your sign-on passwords so they can look at it and tweak. Then you could change the password later. Jacki, do you have your ears on, Hon?

  57. Lady425 aka Beth
    Lady425 aka Beth says:

Anything I can do – I’m in. I already have an Etsy shop, so if anyone needs help with it, I’m here to do whatever is needed. I’m not sure about being able to contribute and item – but maybe I can make a bracelet for the cause. Please let me know.
Love to you Susie. We, together, can do anything!!

  58. Lady425 aka Beth
    Lady425 aka Beth says:

Are we going to continue to share our information here? or has another place been set up (like someone make a specific pick and we all go there to chat)?

  59. Frida
    Frida says:

    Awesome Beth :D Thank you!

I think this pick work as the specific pick. Right now it’s here we chat :)

  60. Elis Mom
    Elis Mom says:

Thanks, Beth! Hugs to you! And to everyone involved! We CAN do anything!

Had to work today a bit, and a little tomorrow, but am off Monday to take Garry to the Dr, so will do my research, and start the site. How will each person list an item? Do we all have the password, and list items as they become svailable? To be continued….

I have been in contact with CorgiAid, who sometimes have loaner carts, but none at the moment. They have been very helpful in guiding me towards the right cart.

Here is one I am thinking of. It has had some good reviews from Corgi owners, and is under $400. Might need some help to bling it out for Dix! Also attaching a pic from when she was better….in the photo, she’s hunting geckos.

    Becky, need your email!

HI all, Somehow I missed all this what with my cataract surgery, etc. But I have pieces in my Etsy shop that aren’t selling that I’d be happy to donate. My vision isn’t too good right now and won’t be for over a month but when ya’ll get this rollin’, let me know where to go to see how this is set up and how to list or whatever.

  62. Frida
    Frida says:

Nancy you are welcome :D Thank you so much :D Look here for updates.

  63. puppychick labratbecky
    puppychick labratbecky says:

Susie, thought I sent it. :( we’ve been having internet connection issues. I just tried again. check your messages. Dixie is quite the good-lookin’ girl!! :) These wheels are very nice. Hope we can get her there soon!!

  64. Asia
    Asia says:

:D I’m hoping for that too, worked on the first piece today!

  65. Elis Mom
    Elis Mom says:

No worries, Becky! I’m having the same issues!

That cart is by Doggon Wheels, and has some good reviews from Corgi owners. The little guy in the chair is a working dog at a shipyard in Italy. He apparently is very famous there!
Miss Dix is a beautiful girl, but I’m biased! Her eyes are very dramatic and soulful. She’s not had a good week, with a UTI and skin issues. Tonight she seems much more like herself, and I couldn’t be happier!

How will we bling the cart!

    Becky, I’ll be in touch!

  66. Elis Mom
    Elis Mom says:

    Thanks, Asia!

I can’t say enough how thankful I am to everyone who’s on board with this project!

  67. Elis Mom
    Elis Mom says:

Oops. The pictured cart is from Ruffrollin. I guess I better get it right. Right?

  68. Frida
    Frida says:

Forgot yesterday to say that thoose wheels looks great. Lil Dix seems to enjoy hunting geckos :) She might need a gecko on her cart :)

  69. Elis Mom
    Elis Mom says:

Thanks, Frida! Dix does enjoy chasing the geckos. She can’t do it very well these days without the strength in her rear legs, but she still tries!

  70. Lynn Eileen Chicky LE
    Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:

I’ve seen dogs on TV with carts & some can even run! It must make a dog feel good to move freely again. :)

Susie, thanks for the photos. Dixie is so beautiful! :D Of course, Eli is very handsome! Don’t want him to feel left out… ;)

  71. Frida
    Frida says:

With those wheels she might be able to drive over a flower or two to chase a gecko ;)

  72. Elis Mom
    Elis Mom says:

Thanks, Lynn! Eli knows something’s up. He’s so smart. He tries to kiss Ms. Dix, but she won’t have it! We try to give him extra attention, as we have been spending alot of time w/Dix lately…

  73. Elis Mom
    Elis Mom says:

OK. Etsy shop is open with me as shop owner. It IS called The Chickie’s Jewelry, but, I can’t seem to be able to use punctuation or spacing. So, it looks like TheChickiesJewelry at the moment. Don’t know why it won’t let me properly edit.

So, we need a banner. Do we design our own? Do we Have Jacki and Amber put it together? What about a premade Etsy banner, like this one?

What sort of statement do we want to make about our jewelry? AND, how will list items in the shop?

  74. Frida
    Frida says:

    WOOOOOW Susie :D :D
I do have the same questions as you have! I have some real chickens photos, if wanting? Would be qute chicks with beads photo, just thinking high.

Think we also should writ what kind of pets we have. Thinking of alergics.

    Great job Susie :D

  75. Elis Mom
    Elis Mom says:

Maybe we could use your photo of the chicks in the avatar? Or the banner?

    What are everyone’s thoughts?

  76. Frida
    Frida says:

I looked through my pics I hadn’t so greawt pics. This lil one is maybe the best.
Otherwise some beads would be nice I think ;)

    Ladies, what do y’ll think?

Hi all. Susie, glad to hear Ms Dix is feeling a bit better!
I have a piece already made – it includes some little dogs on it. I’m ready to post it however and whenever it can be.
I know of a wonderful sight that I have on Pintrest which has the most precious pictures of all types of animals (lots of them babies) that might be appropriate – just let me know. I will try to post some of them here.

Aww, Frida! He’s so cute! I could eit one and use it in the avatar.
Or, Beth, maybe you could post some chicks, too?

I am not experienced with the Etsy shops, so, what is the best way for artists to post their designs? If it is a collective shop, or there are multiple people listing in the shop, we need to have information about each person liting items in the shop. That said, the easiet way woukld be for each person to have access, so they can add their information. OR, people email their info to me and I post it.

Also, I had a question. I am so thrilled and honored that people wqnt to help me on my journey to get Dix her wheels. Shall a portion of the procedes of a sale go towards wheels, and the rest to the artist? Everyone should reap the fruits of their labor, so let me know what you think.

  81. Elis Mom

  82. Julie Shane
    Julie Shane says:

    Hi Susie and everyone,
Offering my opinion… At this point my concern is Miss Dixie. I would be honored and greatful if my contribution was beneficial to Dix. I’m not joining with all of my fellow chickies for profit or proceeds, but rather to help Miss Dixie get her tricked out wheels! :)

Tell me what you need — pic, description, etc — and I’m ready to go!

  83. Granny Nancy

I have a shop on Etsy and only one person can post. So Susie, what is the cost to get Dix her wheels. I have not read that figure yet. Anyway, I’d just like to donate rather than make all this so complicated. I have a very complicated life right now… and have for the past 10 years… so…. maybe that’s just me. But I’d love to help by just donating.

Nancy this is a collective shop which you can have on etsy :) You and Susie can maybe arrange something. Don’t want you to feel stressed.

    Sweet Kitties!

If only one can post items to the shop, I guess it’s me. I’ll provide an email once I have completed set up.

The Ruff Rollin cart in the photo is $385. Unfprtunately, it’s an extra $80 to have it painted pink. May have to forgo that! BUT, they have a payment plan!

Gotta go have some dinner. Back soon!

Frida, I had not heard of a collective shop. I do have 3 socialized ferals. I love them dearly. There’s a 4th who refuses to come in. Last time I tried to take her to the vet she bit me and I got a severe infection.

I’m going to convo a friend of mine on Etsy who is heavily involved with teams that donate to rescues.

  91. Granny Nancy
    Granny Nancy says:

I talked with my friend and while she doesn’t know any of the details, she knows that method of selling on Etsy does exist.

She asked me to let her know when its all set up as she wants to donate some pieces and she will tell others.

She has a shelter in Athens, TX with many, many cats and some dogs and has one that uses one of those gadgets with the wheels. Her son borrowed one of the expensive ones and copied it and made one for my friend for her “patient” :o ) to use – other wise the animal would have to be carried around.

  92. puppychick labratbecky
    puppychick labratbecky says:

We have to be careful where we get pictures from. I know that at least one of the ones Beth posted is from a photographer who sells that picture. Frida, I think the middle pic of the chick would work. I will talk to Amber tomorrow and see if she can help with the punctuation in the title. Can I see it if I go to Etsy?

I don’t want any money for what I post here. After we get Dixie her wheels, maybe we can come up with another furkid/human mommy to help. I will try to send you a picture of my piece as an attachment. I think we will all need Susie’s email address.

Frida, you are a good pet lover. I am sorry mommy cat was killed.

Our internet connection here at home has corroded and we need a new part so I won’t be on as much from here because it keeps cutting me off. I’ll keep in touch from work. (bad girl) :)

    Hi everybody!

I did figure out there is no punctuation or spaces in the shop title.

Ive been online all night trying to make a shop banner, and I must admit I haven’t been able to figure it out. Maybe Jacki or Amber can help?

Here is the photo I’d like to use for the banner. I think it’s cute!

Gotta go to bed after staring at this screen for hours!

I think if you search TheChickiesJewelry, you’ll see the site. It’s just a shell at the moment.

    Thanks to all!

Frida, I’m so sorry about your mama cat. So glad her kitties are OK.

I also would like 100% of my sales to go to Miss Dixie’s wheels. If we end up raising more than that amount, we could keep our fund going to help other pets. :D

Is it OK if some of the items don’t have pet-related items in them?

  101. Frida
    Frida says:

This is whats written on etsy:

“Multiple people using a single account (collective shops)

An account that involves more than one person is called a collective. There are three scenarios, outlined below, in which multiple people who know each other may use a single Etsy account.

Collaboration: Artisans combine their skills to make and list handmade products in an Etsy shop. For example:
•One artist screen prints fabric, then another artist sews clothing from the fabric. The finished product is listed in a collective Etsy shop.

Sharing a Shop: Multiple people who know each other use a single Etsy account to post their own separate items in one shared shop. For example:
•Two jewelers share a collective Etsy shop, but they create and list their own jewelry items in the shop.
•Friends, a painter and a furniture maker, share a collective Etsy shop to sell their work together.
•Vintage sellers share a shop to sell their vintage finds together.

Shop Management Help: Someone helps a friend or family member in the same household or shared physical space manage their Etsy account. For example:
•A person helps a friend or family member list or ship an item. The item is listed in their collective Etsy shop.
•With permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who is at least 18 years of age, a minor and an adult have an Etsy shop together. Per Etsy’s Membership policies, the adult is responsible for the account.

If your shop is a collective, you must comply with all of Etsy’s policies, including these additional policies specifically for collectives:
•A collective may not be an entity that represents multiple artists by contract (for example: a gallery, a consignment shop, an art agency/dealer).
•Because of the laws concerning charitable fundraising, a charitable collective shop must comply with Etsy’s Charitable listings and shops policies.
•The shop’s About page must fully disclose accurate information about each person, their role in the Etsy shop and the relationships between the members of the collective. Etsy may ask for additional information and require that the shop comply with additional requirements.
•The individual who registers the account is responsible for all activities of the account, the bill and any transactions. This includes participation in community features of the site.
•All standard listing policies (see Shops and Listings) apply to collective Etsy shops. All handmade items must be created by members of the collective.

Members who do not comply with Etsy’s policies may be subject to review, which can result in suspension of account privileges and/or termination. Suspended or terminated members remain obligated to pay Etsy for all unpaid fees per our Terms of Use. If any of Etsy’s policies are violated by a member of a collective, all accounts registered to members of the collective are subject to suspension of privileges and/or account termination. Etsy will not mediate disputes between individuals within a collective.”

I’d love to participate if you’ll have me. I currently (on a very small scale) design ‘name’ braceltes for rescue dogs adopted through a small group here in Maine who partner with southern dog rescue groups. The latter rescue dogs on ‘death row’ and then send them up North to foster homes in hopes of finding forever homes.
I’m not that good of a jewelry maker, but I will donate as many other types jewelry I have that haven’t sold as well :)

Susie–ignore my message–I got to the Etsy site. Looks good so far. I would guess we can’t say we met on LB because that would advertise LB on Etsy and that breaks a rule. I am having Amber take a look right now. :)

  105. puppychick labratbecky
    puppychick labratbecky says:

Hey, chickies! Amber can make us a banner for the shop with one of Frida’s chick pictures. She can clean up and lighten the picture with her special photoshop program, put it into a banner, and email it to Susie. Susie, if you try to use a picture downloaded from cyber space, it might have the wrong dimensions, pixels, etc. but since Frida has the file of her pictures, she can email me/Amber the file, Amber can make it look all pretty, and Amber and I can make the banner and send the banner as a file to Susie. What do you think? Please let me know today because Amber goes out of state tomorrow morning. She works very quickly and can get it done before she leaves if I hear from you guys quickly enough.

Found these 2 also. What I would think would be cool is to take a chicken pic and mix with a pic with beads. But not to much work. I’m also concernd about owner-right of the picture, so we don’t get in trouble. Sadly I don’t have any small chicks now so can’t take pictures… I’m happy if you are happy ;)

  108. Frida
    Frida says:

Some job to co-ordinate all this :P I wote for Amber!! I’m pritty sure that if some beads is appropriate to incoporate then maybe Becky have some pretty ones? ;)

Nothing wrong with Susies picture, just thinking of who’s owning it?

  109. puppychick labratbecky
    puppychick labratbecky says:

I think Susie’s picture is very cute but unless she took it and has the file, we can’t do any tweaking. It might be distorted if we enlarge it. If she doesn’t own it, we would need to either buy it from the photographer or get permission to use it because we are using it for a business. Frida is right–we can’t take other people’s pictures off the internet for our personal use.

Frida, Amber can add beads to those pics with photoshop. She is a photographer and she has the necessary computer programs (she bought them) I think the first pic of those last 2 would be perfect. There are more than one chick and the middle one is looking right at the camera. Here is my email: If you can send me that pic as an attachment, Amber can work her magic. She can lighten it and “add” beads. I think I can come up with a few beads to put into the picture. :)

Becky I have mailed you the picture :)

  111. Elis Mom

Becky, sorry to get back to everyone so late! They are cracking down on using the internet @ work! if Amber could create the banner for the shop using one of Frida’s photos, that would be great!

  112. Elis Mom
    Elis Mom says:

Haven’t left for home yet. Frida and Becky, I like the photo of the chick in the orchid, or the 2 posted later. I don’t want ownership issues, either. I hope Amber will be able to make a banner before she leaves….

Sounds like fun to dogsit, Becky!

So, we have to have info about each person participating in the shop and what they do. Do you guys want to email that info to me and I post it?

What about the jewelry? Etsy will expect that purchased items be shipped in a reasonable amount of time. Do we all want to be responsible for shipping items?

    Let mr know your thoughts.

I think everyone shipping their own piece will be easiest. If I can set it up that Etsy notifies you of a sale, I will. If not, I’ll need everyone’s email. Mine is

I’ve been caught up in other stuff and so missed the hatching of this idea, but I’d advise against listing the shop as a charitable collective. I’m not a lawyer, and yet I’ve done enough legal writing/research to know that any time you hold yourself out to be a charity, there are umpteen rules (and forms and tax filings, etc. etc. etc.) that could make Susie’s life way more complicated than she needs. I say stick to the main purpose of raising money to get Dixie her wheels through donations by the artists to the site with proceeds going to Susie. Don’t make promises about future charitable activities, which could turn into an enormous headache for Susie as site owner.

  123. Chicky Red-haired Grammy
    Chicky Red-haired Grammy says:

A baby chicken photo suggestion: as Easter is approaching, might there be fuzzy fake chicks (or little stuffed toy chicks) available in the Easter basket and candy area of shops? A few silly creatures amongst beautiful pieces of jewellery might be an interesting photo.

I am supportive all the way but will not be sending any piece from London. Shipping back to the states can be quite tricky and expensive, which would make a piece prohibitively expensive. I AM looking forward to seeing the website and all your pieces.

Be well and be of good cheer!

  124. Frida
    Frida says:

    I agree with Laud :)

    Think we should write someting like;

“we are knowing each other through LB… we “hatched” the idea to have a collective shop too showcase our work… … …”

  125. Lois D
    Lois D says:

Second Laud’s advice. I have a small non-profit organization here in Maine (VERY small), have state recognition and awaiting federal. Myriad papers and filings. Wise to be very cautious, especially as Laud mentioned, about promising future charity to others. NPOs are do-able, but complicated. so much so that I’m thinking of dissolving mine, ’cause it’s one of those things where you ‘have to have money to make money’ for your cause…OK, I’ll stop :) I”m rambling again.

  126. Elis Mom
    Elis Mom says:

    Good morning!

I am in agreement with not making promises regarding future charitable endevours. Once the goal is aqccomplished of funding Dixie’s wheels, I could then foward profits to the artisan of any piece sold, or unlist the item, whichever they prefer. Or, make a donation to a charitiable group such as CorgiAid, who helps dogs in need.

I hope to start listing items this weekend, and be open for business by the following week.

    Deb Harding says:

Sorry I have not been keeping up with what’s going on ladies. Issues with all the kittens (I will update later). Anyway I went to the etsy shop and followed it so its easy to.find. As far as money made, I will donate 2 pieces: 1 necklace &1 bracelet set. I want all proceeds to go to Miss Dixie’s cart. I will jave them done hopefully by this Sunday. Let me know how we are posting photos. phone does not take good enough photos I do have a digital camera and I can fo to my Mom’s and upload the pics from there. If you need to send me more info my email is

Update on the 2 new kittens. They have become very sick and I don’t expect them to make it. I’ve given them the clavamox and tried feeding them and pedialyte plus little noses saline spray but…. Nothing is working. They were just too young to fight this off a little over a week. My heart is broken.
ButterBall is fine. Quite healthy actually.

  129. Laud
    Laud says:

Deb, I’m sorry to hear about your kittens. Hugs to you and ButterBall. Very belated hugs to Susie and Dixie as well.

Other thoughts on the collective: 1) It would help if contributors sent a signed and dated letter (hard copy) to (Susie’s full name) stating that they intend for the proceeds from their contribution to go to her. This protects Susie. 2) The letter should describe the object accurately; for instance, “antique gold clasp” isn’t enough, but “antique gold plated brass clasp” is correct. This helps protect the site from buyers’ claims of false and misleading advertising. 3) The letter should state that the contributor is the designer and manufacturer of the piece. 4) Contributors should further state the price they want listed for their pieces and acknowledge that they are responsible for shipping costs.

Maybe a lawyer should script the letter?

Two other questions: Who will deal with sales tax issues? Who will handle returns and credits?

Finally, Susie should set up a separate bank account for receipts from the site so if there is any question about the use of funds, only that account is involved, rather than others she may have.

Sorry to sound so nitpicky, but I’ve spent the last three months dealing with institutions that want ALL the paperwork done three times over!

  130. Elis Mom
    Elis Mom says:

Hi Cindy! if you look at my pick Bu Yang Huan Wu, it explains what’s going on with Dixie. Frida is the one who got this whole project going. I can’t thank people enough for all thei love and support.

Deb, thanks for all your support! I’m sorry about the little ones. Kiss ButterBall for me.

  131. Elis Mom
    Elis Mom says:

Laud, you make good sense. I am planning a separate account for proceeds so there is no mingling of other funds.

If everyone scripts a letter documenting their wishes to contribute the proceeds of a sale of their item, isn’t that enough? I do agree that the artist should be responsible for accurately describing thei piece, it’s components, length, and price.

  132. Frida
    Frida says:

Now I can almost nothing about your laws in USA so I’m not to much help there. What I’m thinking, if one keep to etsy rules isn’t one quite safe then? Least if one doesn’t do it for charity? I’m thinking that what one do with money earnd isn’t etsys bisiness? Second, in SWE we are allowed to earn some money from our hobbies, can you do that?
At etsy rules it’s written that the owner of the shop is in charge of paying salary and such stuff.
Some protection one should have through using etsy or?

The worst thing that can happen what is that (exept becoming angry with each other which I absolutly don’t want)?

Deb hon, I’m thinking of you and hoping for the lil ones. Hugs

  133. puppychick labratbecky
    puppychick labratbecky says:

First and foremost, Deb, i am so sorry you and those kitties have to go through this. I have lost dozens of pets over the years and it never gets any easier. Your grief shows what a big heart you have. I wish I were there to help you out! At least Butterball is going to be ok and you will have that sweetie to warm your heart and life. Hugs, Deb, big warm ones!
Isn’t Etsy set up to handle taxes, etc.? I was under the impression that this “job” they do for us is why there is a fee for using this site. Someone please check all of Etsy’s legalese. I will, too. No other shop has any mention of taxes added. I think that Etsy set this up to handle those details so all the shop owners have to do is post and sell. The money comes to you and Esty sends you a bill for their services. I will check the fine print, too, but I don’t think this is necessarily as complicated as Laud is worried about. But that said, Laud, it is awesome of you to think of all of that and warn us. You rock! I know that in the state of MN, you need to earn more than $500 net profit to begin paying taxes on your sales. If we all kept our receipts, I for one can prove that I am NOWHERE near that net profit thing. I have invested more than $20,000.00 in my jewelry and it will be awhile before I am in the black. Quite the confession, huh? My stash and tool collection is huge so that I mostly have what I need at my fingertips.

  134. puppychick labratbecky
    puppychick labratbecky says:

The banner for the shop is partway done. My graphic artist daughter did the lettering (in green, of course) :) and Amber is tweaking 2 of Frida’s chick pics so that Susie will be able to choose one. The chick pic will be in the banner between “Chickies’ ” and “Jewelry”.

  135. Elis Mom
    Elis Mom says:

Frida, I think you are right…if we stick to etsy rules we should be fine. I think everyone involved and who is contributing knows what we are doing and where the proceeds will go.

I will definately set up a separate savings account for the funds, so there will be no intermingling of private $$.

I still want to say Thank You to everyone involved for their love and support!

  136. Laud
    Laud says:

Frida, Etsy rules are important, but our taxing agencies are a major hassle to avoid.

Susie, documentation that contributors are gifting you with their products is an important protection for you. I simply don’t know how to ensure that the documentation is complete. If you have a friend that’s a lawyer, ask for help on this one.

For the taxing agencies, you must keep accurate records and report the net income (after any expenses) on your tax returns. That’s obvious, but you’ll have to do some bookkeeping.

Sales tax can’t be overlooked. Your county (and possibly, your city) will want their share of money from items sold in Florida. Either obtain the necessary license to do that and follow the procedures, or don’t sell to Floridians. I’m simply not sure about tax on Internet sales to other states. So far, I’ve only paid tax on purchases from Internet sellers based in my state.

Lastly, as Frida pointed out, the devil is in the details. Think about returns and how to handle them. What if a piece breaks and the buyer wants it fixed? Who pays for the shipping back and forth? Little stuff like that can lead to hard feelings, which nobody wants.

  137. Frida
    Frida says:

Thank you Laud for the info! That’s great :)

What I remeber now there is a thing in the shop where you can fill in tax!!! Susie please check that. Under Shop Settings there are Shipping & Payment if you choose that it will come up Shipping Profiles, Payment Methods, Sales Tax, Currency. At Sales Tax one can fill in stuff. In swe I can earn (if not more) 20 000 SEK which is around 3130$ on my hobby so I think I’m safe. But we also are one of the highest tax paying countries in the world ;)

  138. Elis Mom
    Elis Mom says:

I’ve been thinking and doing some research. The whole purpose of this collective shop is to fund a cart for Dix. I believe if anyone wishes to donate an item, they should send me an email, and I’ll send my home address so that person can send a letter stating the item to be sold is donated for the sole purpose of fund raising for Dixie’s cart. It should be signed and dated. That should be sufficient.
As far as taxes, the goal of this shop is approximately $485, far below the level of income to be reported for tax purposes.
Once the goal is reached, we should simply close the shop.
We can then open another Chickies shop together if we desire, at a later date.
As far as handling returns, I can set up the return policy when setting up shop, saying anyone dissatisfied with an item needs to contact me within x amount of days, and the customer assumes responsibilty for S+H

    What do you think?

  139. Frida
    Frida says:

Susie what you want the shop to be when this is over, you deside :) One learns a lot through this journey. Just concern that you Susie feeling anxious about this? I don’t to be honest, totally comprehend all this law stuff but starting to get a clue.

  140. Laud
    Laud says:

I think by keeping things focused and simple, you’ve eliminated most of the issues that could have been troublesome. If Etsy takes care of billing and sales tax, things should go smoothly.

Oh, and I’d like to point out that another way to contribute is to buy some of the marvelous offerings. *rubs hands* What fun!

  141. Frida
    Frida says:

I’m getting a lil bit stressed over this, me starting this and want it to work in the best way. Don’t want you to get headache.

How is the rules if one sells from a table? Just thinking?

We have already done some work!

I’m going to sleep now :) Nite dear ladies :)

  142. Frida
    Frida says:

You so right Laud ;) :D

One more question, Susie why do the shop need to be closed? Can’t it just be transformed or something?

Ohh my I think my head is spinning right now :P

Susie, I have the same question that Frida had, how are the rules when someone sells from the table? I think that we both have the same idea especially that we want Dixie to have her wheels as soon as possible :D

  144. Asia
    Asia says:

Deb, it looks like your cats are infecting each other, are they inoculated? Lets hope for the best with the little ones!

  145. puppychick labratbecky
    puppychick labratbecky says:

Asia–in MN to sell from a table, if I am projected to make a profit over $500, I must get a tax number from the state and pay the state sales tax on everything I sell above that amount. So far the state people have told me I don;t need a number because they ask me how much I have spent on supplies. They don’t think I will ever get there. ;) I’ll just have to show them! :) :)

  146. Asia
    Asia says:

Becky, this is insane, I just read about your investment, no wonder your hubby is putting his foot down.I have a question for you, I want to get the bail making pliers what size is the most universal one :D

  147. puppychick labratbecky
    puppychick labratbecky says:

No idea but I think a few metal dowels from Home Depot work great. It took me 5 years to amass that amount. :) Most of the pricey stuff is tiny precious stones I am hoarding until I feel confident to use them. I saw a shop in San Francisco that sells artisan jewelry using exactly the type of stones I have collected and some of the techniques were doable with practice. My goal is to get my stuff in there. :) I got chased out of the store because I was studying techniques and not buying. :)

  148. Deb Harding
    Deb Harding says:

Asia its basically a cold virus. This is what the vet said. No inoculation against that. I tried to make sure that the sick cats did not.go in the bathroom with the moms but it did no good. The babies got it from the 1st litter and the 1st litter got it from.their moms. I was fighting a losing battle with this cold/flu thing from day 1. And none of my cats go outside.

It sounds like everyone is coming up with all kind of issues here. I understand none of this legal stuff. Hopefully everything will get.straight.

And wow Becky is all I can say..that is just crazy. What the h**l have you bought??

  149. puppychick labratbecky
    puppychick labratbecky says:

Asia, what are you going to use them for? If it is for jumprings, I make mine on a coil-making device. It works great. I’m not sure if LB carries it or not but it is ingenious. (see–it doesn’t take much to get to 20 grand. :) )

  150. puppychick labratbecky
    puppychick labratbecky says:

Mostly stone, Deb. I am a freak for gemstones. I am insane. If I get close to using a certain stone up, I refill my stash. It is an addiction but I have grand plans and so far not enough time. When I have my own company, I’ll remember all my friends in a generous way. :)

  151. puppychick labratbecky
    puppychick labratbecky says:

Oh, yeah, and a bunch of sterling wire and precious metal clay. I want to get into silversmithing. I also have an industrial rock polisher and tools for each branch of this expensive hobby. Hubby is correct to put his foot down, but it breaks down to 4 grand a year. I don’t think that is too bad.

  152. Asia
    Asia says:

Becky, I was thinking about shaping filigree, it is very hard to do using round nose pliers :D LOL Becky at being chased out of the store, you actually let them get away with that, I know that you are right about the money, there are so many tools that are calling my name, I got myself on the budget otherwise It would not be pretty as I don’t have anybody watching over my shoulder, love your enthusiasm for beading :D

  153. Asia
    Asia says:

Deb, I just hope that you will have some luck with those once, it is heartbreaking to see them go :D

  154. Asia
    Asia says:

    : ( Deb

  155. puppychick labratbecky
    puppychick labratbecky says:

You probably are going to need both of the 2 sizes LB carries then. Sorry. :)

  156. Asia
    Asia says:

Becky, I do understand the obsession, right now my tool list is growing with the tumbler being on the top, I would also love to do some enameling :D

  157. puppychick labratbecky
    puppychick labratbecky says:

Imagine if we lived next door and could pool these resources. :)

  158. Asia
    Asia says:

Actually they have 3 sizes and I don’t feel sorry, I will stick to my budget, something every month :D

  159. Asia
    Asia says:

    It would be fantastic :D

  160. puppychick labratbecky
    puppychick labratbecky says:

I looked at them too quickly. I have a weird one at home that my hand and I don’t like and don’t use but I can see how it would be awesome for bending filigree. I just got 2 pieces of filigree in my last order so I could try exactly that. Your brainwaves must be dipping down here with the jet stream. :)

  161. Asia
    Asia says:

    :D Have to go :D

    bye! :)

  163. Elis Mom
    Elis Mom says:

My head has been spinning from all the legal concerns that have been brought up, so I guess I AM a bit anxious.
A friend of mine who has owned a few businesses told me this: A person could gift me a HUGE sum of money without declaration. Any donated items become personal property, and if I sell it, it’s the same as my selling something at a garage sale(sorry for the analogy).
We have to make 20K before worrying about taxes.

In short, we don’t need to make this that complicated.

Etsy does have software that calulates sales tax, just have to enable it when listing an item.

Sooooo…No worries! Let’s continue on our journey as we originally planned.

I’m going to start listing items tghis weekend. If anyone has photos to send, I’m at

    Thanks to all my Chickies!

    Nite Frida!

  164. Elis Mom
    Elis Mom says:

Becky! What a stash! I have invested quite a bit, but not that much!

I have been using bail making pliers with the filigrees. Works really well.

Maybe we should open a jeweler’s tool rental company. We could ship rental tools all over the globe!

  165. Frida
    Frida says:

We have a saying when someone is very very rich she/he is ‘sten rik’ / “stone rich”, and Becky sertainly is ;) Me too loves gems and could spend lots $ but haven’t so much money, spend much in realtion to what I have.

Susie or is it Susan? I also think we proceed as planed. Also I know I wrote somewhere that if I sell a piece then I can give you the money? And you will not get in trouble? It must be clear that I have give you the money though or?

  166. Elis Mom
    Elis Mom says:

Ya. I love the gemstones, too! And Becky has such a stash! I think we should go camping at her house and help her explore the possibilities of that stash!

Frida, if you sell a piece of jewelry, and decide to give me the proceeds, it’s a gift, and you won’t get into any trouble. You don’t need to write anything.

I like Susie. Susan is for when I’m in trouble!

  167. Deb Harding
    Deb Harding says:

I vote we all camp at Becky’s house too!!!! I want to see this magnificent stash. No wonder she said it took up a spare bedroom!!

  168. Frida
    Frida says:

:D I too vote for a camp at Becky’s but we might consider tent bec I wonder if there is any place in the house of beads???? :P

    Susie it is then ;)

  169. puppychick labratbecky
    puppychick labratbecky says:

Very funny, ladies! :) !! I have 5 bedrooms from when my 4 kids were at home and only one is full. :) C’mon over. :)

My daughter is done with a few versions of the banner for Etsy shop… I had her redo one and as soon as she is done (she’s doing it right now–I just got off the phone with her) I will post them here and email them to Susie to choose.

We aren’t rich by any stretch of the imagination which is why hubby doesn’t want me buying beads. I will be paying that debt down for at least 2 years unless I sell a bunch of jewelry so that is why I am seeking shows to do and possibly an Etsy shop.

  170. puppychick labratbecky
    puppychick labratbecky says:

Here are the 2 best banner choices. What do you guys think?

  171. Lady425 aka Beth
    Lady425 aka Beth says:

I vote for the 2nd one showing lots of chickies. Also, I have a necklace ready to sell – do I send the pictures to you Susie, and my description? Or are we all going to know the password so we can post anythime we finishing something without having to bother you every time?

  172. Elis Mom
    Elis Mom says:

Wow! Those are BOTH awsome! I almost have to flip a coin…But….I like the second a bit better with the multiple chicks. What do you guys think?

Beth, I think it’s OK to email photos and descriptions to me to post. A few have done that already…

  173. Frida
    Frida says:

Ohhhh I too think they both are awesome!! Great job :D I will also vote for the second. Thank you for such a beautiful work!

I’m going for a friend for a night and can’t hang around so you know.
My designs are lil bit after my planning. Besides my regular pain I have got what I think is a muscular inflamation, making me more misserable. Just so you know that I’m a bit slow. The first piece is almost ready though.

I’m so impressed over this! Hugs to y’ll :D

  174. Chicky Red-haired Grammy
    Chicky Red-haired Grammy says:

Glad I am not making the decision as I love both, especially the bright eye in the chick on number one … caught my eye immediately! The other is darling but didn’t grab me quite as much.
    Good luck, my friends!

P.S. We went to a dog show yesterday to see the standard poodles. Must do a pick soon!

  175. Asia
    Asia says:

Love them both, the first one grabs my attention due to colors, the second goes really well with the name of the store :D

  176. Julie Shane
    Julie Shane says:

Hi everyone, Just catching up on the conversation. I think I like the second banner because it has lots of chickies.

  177. Elis Mom
    Elis Mom says:

Update! I’ve been listing some items on The Chickies Jewelry this afternoon. I must say it’s time consuming! I thought I’d be able to use photos from my LB gallery, but 560×560 images look best. So, I re-edited a few, and posted some as they already were. So, we’ll see.
I’m going photograph a necklace this afternoon and post it as well. But, I gotta go take a break! Stiff from sitting!

  178. Frida
    Frida says:

I’m back home again :D Just wanted to pop my head in here and say that!!
Going to bed now, quite tired.

Susie hope it’s manageable otherwise someone might be able to help?

  179. Elis Mom
    Elis Mom says:

Just an update. I have been listing items daily. Was wondering what you guys thought our target date should be?

  180. Julie Shane
    Julie Shane says:

Susie, I found your name and description… I searched “thechickiesjewelry” on etsy… but I don’t see anything posted for sale.

I’m probably doing something wrong. HELP!!!

  181. Julie Shane
    Julie Shane says:

Can you send us a URL so we can go straight to the page??? :)

  182. Elis Mom
    Elis Mom says:

I don’t think you’re doing anything wrong. The shop’s not technically open, so you can’t see any listings. I’ll post a link in a minute, and we can hopoe it works!

  183. Elis Mom
    Elis Mom says:
  184. Elis Mom
    Elis Mom says:

Looks like all you can see is my profile if you’re not logged in. Bummer.

Looks like we need to open soon!

Anyone who’s contributing an item should create an Etsy profile, then “follow” thechickiesjewelry. You’re profile will appear in the shop, if I remember correctly.

  185. Frida
    Frida says:

Susie when follow the link I got a message that I wasn’t allowed to change this information. What I don’t really understand is that in the helpsection it’s said that members of a collective can list their own stuff? But I guess then those collectives all have the password?
Still working on my pieces, I haven’t had so much time but I progressing :)
I must edit my etsyprofile some. You still need to post some info of us or ??

  186. Elis Mom
    Elis Mom says:

I thought members of the collective could post items as well, but I haven’t figured out how, unless everyone hasthe password.

There are a few people following The Chickie’s Jewelry already, and some have profiles available to view. Julie’s profile shows. We’ll have to ask her how she was able to create her profile.

  187. Julie Shane
    Julie Shane says:

    Hi Chickies,
I went to etsy and searched TheChickiesJewelry. When I found Susie’s profile I click “follow” and added myself. Somewhere… I clicked on “my profile” or “my account” or something… (sorry) and uploaded my avitar and added stuff to the description.

Trust me, if *I* managed to do it… it’s very do-able!!! I’m just not clever enough to remember or tell all of you.

  188. Julie Shane
    Julie Shane says:

I just tried the link you sent. It says “Uh oh! You don’t have permission to change or remove this information.” I think it wants a password.

No problem. I’ll send you info and pics when I get them done. This weekend…

  189. Laud
    Laud says:

I found the site by going to Etsy, then putting The Chickies Jewelry into search. I added the link to favorites so I can get back.

  190. Julie Shane
    Julie Shane says:

Laud, Where there any items to see??? Or just Susie’s profile? I’m still not seeing any items. HELP!!!

  191. Frida
    Frida says:

Julie I think we can’t see the items bf the shop opens :)

  192. Laud
    Laud says:

    I just saw Susie’s profile.

  193. Asia
    Asia says:

I should be ready for the weekend, saw Susie’s profile too, still have to check the shipping cost as well :D

  194. Elis Mom
    Elis Mom says:

Sometimes I can’t get to the profile either. Haha! I usually can!

For those who saw the profile, is it OK?
I was trying to convey we are a global community…I didn’t mention how we were connected online, because I thought that may be advertizing, but….lots of artists will mention hand made components by name, so, would it be OK to say we know each other thru LB?

    What do you think?

The weekend is great! Hopefeully everyone will have been paid on Friday, and ready to shop Saturday!

  195. puppychick labratbecky
    puppychick labratbecky says:

I think I fixed my profile on it, too. I clicked on “followers”, then on “edit” to the right of my name. I have spent the last 3 hours reading all the rules, do’s, don’ts, and a tiny portion of the helpful hints. What a huge site! :)

  196. Elis Mom
    Elis Mom says:

It IS HUGE! And one could research for weeks and not have it all figured out. I kinda figure it’s a “tweak as you go” thing!

  197. Lynn Eileen Chicky LE
    Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:

OK, I’ve got our site marked as one I “follow” & I also saved it to my online favorites for easy access. Hubby Bob & I have a joint shop, so it shows both of us following The Chickies’ Jewelry. Even better! :D

I don’t see a problem with listing where we all first met. Other sites seem to list product names, artist’s names, & sites where they purchased components. If this ends up being illegal, be sure to tell them it was Frida’s idea. LOL 8O LOL ;)

  198. Lynn Eileen Chicky LE
    Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:

Regarding the banner choices — both are wonderful! The first one really “pops” due to the vivid green background. The second one has a subtler background & seems harder to read. Either that or my eyes are tired. LOL 8O

Susie, your profile sounds good! :)

  199. Frida
    Frida says:

    I’m a perfect scapegoat haaa :P

  200. Elis Mom
    Elis Mom says:

I think I’ll edit the profile to reflect that we are all connected thru LB.

Hoping to go live this weekend!

  201. Frida
    Frida says:

I’m so exited over this!! Still have to finish a piece, me is such a slow worker. Sitting and staring on the material and asks it to speak to me ;) :P

  202. Elis Mom
    Elis Mom says:

Hi all! I’m ready to open shop, but I can’t figure out how! I need to verify my email, but there’s no link to do so, and I haven’t gotten an email from Etsy. Bummer! If anyone has any insight, please let me know!
