“White, Lilac & Pink Azaleas”

Description from Granny Nancy: I tried to illustrate how I have a variety of azaleas around my house and they are mostly in full bloom. A few of them are getting old and need to be replaced, thus the twig where one side of a couple look rather tattered and worn.

Now to design a piece of jewelry with these colors.

Fantastic colors, as for the azaleas, you can prune them quite hard as they have dormant buds along the stems, you can cut them down to a few inches, also take out all the small twigs, do it now or right after they bloom, not later, the fertilize sparingly. :D

Nancy this is fabulous! I love the stick! :) Asia, I just inhaled your advice. I have a northern lights cultivar that grows in zone 4 and it was not doing so well this last year. I was afraid to cut it back too far but I defintely will now! :) Mine started sending up shoots from the base this last year and I had to look closely to make sure that wasn’t a weed! When do I fertilize if I cut it back after it blooms?

Love the mix of lavendars and pinks Nancy.

What??? Azaleas don’t come in teal? ;) !!!

No darn – no teal azaleas. Thanks for all the advice everyone. I need to prune bag my camelias now that they’re about done blooming. I’ll take your advice about pruning the yucky azaleas as soon as they stop blooming.

    Thanks everyone.
