Playing with polymer clay..

Merry Christmas folks! This is a necklace I whipped up to give to my sister in law for Christmas (haven't had the time to make a lot of things...
Components: From Lima Beads: Copper wire (which was aged), leather cord (I believe it is 1.5mm or 2mm in natural - this leather is so soft, it is just lovely), clasp. Split rings were made by me, with LB copper wire and aged with LoS, and Irish waxed linen (in an olive colour - 4 ply).. My own stash: PC pendant self made. Indonesian recycled glass beads, from Etsy.

Send in the Clowns..

A bit of a hodge-podge and they remind me of the colours at a circus or a carnival. I was literally playing with the beads and wire, and somehow...
Components: From Lima Beads: All the wire (22 gauge for ear wires, and 20 -18 gauge for the rest) - bare copper wire that was aged with liver of sulfur, the bigger Czech beads (faceted round nugget beads - bought from here last year), and the Czech Glass Ivory Picasso Turquoise Melon beads also from LB. From my own stash.. The seaglass pillows in the turquoise and the clear Czech beads and the tiny beadcaps that were coloured with turquoise gilders paste. The tiny Anissa Picasso Czech seed beads are from my own stash.

Copper Sheets and Washers

Have been in a bit of a funk recently.

Before everything went into a bleh spiral, I had tried some copper etching. Being the impatient and...
Components: From Lima Beads: All the wire, which were used for the ball headpins and then turned into ear wires and hammered and aged in LOS. Czech beads, and the tiny sea glass beads and the gorgeous amber coloured seaglass dangles. Recycled glass beads, as well as some of the Czech Anissa Picasso seed beads, copper sheet which I hacked into with shears and washers from my own stash.

Orchids and Copper..

The pink earrings were inspired by this lovely orchid plant my two lovely little boys gave me for Mother's Day. The flowers were so pale, with...
Components: From Lima Beads - my favourite pink quartz wheel beads (these are so pretty and so icy and frosty, I love love love them! Please get more, as I am running low.. ), brass wire, antique copper wire. Own stash and stuff - Ghana recycled glass beads in orange, hammered copper, Gilders Paste patina colour, polymer clay drops handmade, by me and the edge coloured with Gilders Paste patina, tiny little bead caps I picked up from this little store in this out of the way little town, that I spotted while husband drove past (many *gasps* and "stop the car!!!" occurred there) also coloured with the paste.

Movie Earrings..

The green disc and copper and silver tones was also for my sister-in-law.

All three sets were made while plonked on the couch, watching movies...
Components: From Lima Beads: All the wire, the lovely seafoam sea beads, the utterly gorgeous icy pink quartz wheels that have been sitting in my stash, staring at me since I bought it over a year ago, the various copper and bronze spacers. From my own stash and the local bead store: The plain little bead caps, the green life saver beads (recycled glass Ghana disc beads) and Picasso seed beads - big red ones and the small turquoise ones, the silver toned drop beads which were aged with boiled egg and then buffed and lacquered. The burgundy small beads are polymer clay beads, made by me ages ago. I also made the ball headpins with the dreaded mega torch. The wire gauge is a bit big, but they were all I had on hand when making the earrings and I was not up to going outside and making more in the dark with a smaller wire gauge.

Unsure necklace..

Really unsure about this one. Especially after looking at the photos. It's the inner seed bead bits that seem off. It's the colour of the...
Components: From Lima Beads: Sea glass pendant drop in Seafoam (I adore these drops!), wire, leather. From a local bead shop: Indonesian glass beads. My own stash: African recycled glass tulip beads in amber, and aqua disc beads in pendant. Copper bars, hacked off copper sheet, patina'ed with boiled egg *sigh* and seed beads. All findings made with wire from LB.

Components: Wire for earwires, Lima Beads. Sea glass drops, also from Lima Beads (adore those and put more on my list for next big order). Those delicious orange life saver beads from a Ghana fair trade Etsy shop, as were the recycled glass teeny tiny tulip beads. Textured copper (whacked on this really old copper coin found in my dad's stash of washers - not copper sadly, copper washers are so rare here), made myself. Textured and then aged with boiled egg (local stocks of liver of sulfur are non-existent at present) and lacquered. Czech turquoise glass bead on the life saver earrings from my own stash and the stripey blue unpolished beads on top of that are polymer clay beads that I made myself a while ago while trying to imitate turquoise - how it went stripey, I still don't know.

All wire, including those to make the ear wires and wire wrapping, leather (1.5mm dark brown) and Czech, gemstone chips and coconut rondelle from Lima Beads. Gemstone chips used were Larimar, Malachite, Apatite and Jasper tumbled chips (some were sold as stretch bracelets from LB which I obviously ermm.. cut the elastic to get to the chips for this - sorry LB!). Thread is C-Lon in orange and red from the local bead store, which I waxed repeatedly with beeswax and then used a warmish iron and a thick piece of calico on top to melt into the thread and wiped them down with cotton to remove the excess wax.
