Easter Egg Hunt 2016 Results

Posted by Steve on March 31 at 04:10 pm

The 8th Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Lima Beads has come to a close, and we have the usual recap and results to report :) Read on…

Leaderboard Gift Certificates

Just like last year, everyone that was on the Leaderboard at the end of the hunt gets a $20 Gift Certificate. We sent them yesterday morning via e-mail… if you finished on the leaderboard, we’re in awe of your sp-egg-tacular dedication to finding those pesky little pastel pods. Congrats again!

The Grand Prize

This year’s grand prize winner (awarded by random drawing from the Top 10 hunters on the Leaderboard) is…. Myriam V! Just like last year, we drew her name out of an empty Twizzler container (we’ve got a lot of those lying around for some reason). Congrats, Myriam! Your gift certificate was also e-mailed to you.

The Prizes

As you know, we changed the way we handle prizes this year. We know there were some hunters that liked the old way, and some who liked the new way better. We ran some numbers, and we’re happy to report that we sent out well over twice the number of prizes this year! Regardless of the new format, we hope you all love your prizes. We’ll be sure to take everyone’s feedback into account when we decide what to do next year.

Some Stats…

Since we can’t reveal the positions of the every egg, we wanted to give some stats to quench your thirst for eggs this week. Here goes:

  • As I mentioned above, there were more than twice the amount of prizes redeemed this year
  • Over 130,000 eggs were found this year across all the hunters who participated–WOW!
  • It took Matt longer than ever to hide all 300 eggs this year (haha)
  • All the eggs were found at least once.
  • The most commonly found egg was the one on the home page, very closely followed by the one on the Gemstone Beads page.
  • The first egg was found even before I could find one after launching the hunt at 6:30am on Sunday. Talk about fast hunters!
  • The final egg was found only 21 seconds before 12 midnight Pacific time on Sunday night… talk about cutting it close!
  • The most popular prize was: Zola Elements Patina Green Brass Falling Feather Pendant 8x38mm
  • The second most popular prize was: Pewter Beech Leaf Charm 7x15mm

… and a Big THANK YOU!

As always, we owe everyone a huge “Thank You” for taking part in the hunt. It takes a lot of time to pick out hiding spots and place all those little eggs, but that doesn’t come close to the amount of time you all spend trying to find them :) So thanks for helping make the week fun for everyone. We hope you enjoyed it! We hope everyone had a safe & happy Easter. Until next time… :)

Thank you for an enjoyable hunt. I didn’t find a lot of eggs but I still got prizes and I really liked this year’s format the best.

Congratulations Myriam V on the awesome win.

Steve, I have to admit, I didn’t really like the new prize structure in the beginning, but realized when I checked out I had more prizes than last year!

Thanks again for for another exciting Easter egg hunt. Already looking forward to next year.

Congratulations to Myriam V; kudos for hanging on!

It was a blast, as usual! :D

Have to admit, I wasn’t sure at first, but my little fish bead is growing on me. Maybe I’ll put him as a dangle to the “Egg Hunting Bracelet” I posted to the gallery last year. Hah!

(I do have one thought for the Lima Team, though.
As many others have echoed, please ponder having some sort of prize for most eggs found, even if it’s just another prize tier only one person can get at the end or something. The reason I suggest this is twofold: one, your chances are the same, tenth place or first, and those of us who like to go nuts with it would really love that little extra reward incentive for all that extra hard digging even if it’s a stuffed lima bead guy [okay *that* part might just be me...] What do you think, M Rowe?
Second…a bit more personal, perhaps, as I’ve done this all but the first year, been in the top ten *every* time, I believe. -Never won.- I know elves keep nabbing my slip, and that’s okay, but this would give me something I can easily shoot for that I know I either won or didn’t! ;)
    Just a thought!)

That said, my cart has blown well past my $20 already. ;)
    Next time for sure!

A big thanks to everyone at Lima. I know you all have to work extra hard to pull these hunts off with barely a hiccup. Got my order yesterday and even though I’m not as dedicated as some I got a lot of really nice prizes for my 110 eggs. Congrats to all who managed the leaderboard and a special congrats to the top 10. Thanks again Lima!!!

Cheers to the Lima team and a big thank you for the best hunt ever. Loved every minute of it and especially the new prize structure. Received my winnings yesterday and could not be more pleased. And, thanks to all for an exhilarating race to the finish.

It was a great hunt and I had a blast. I found two sections I had skipped in the last few hours and so glad I did because those two got me up into the top 10 for the first time. :)

I was thinking during it how fun it would be to also have a ‘trick or treating’ hunt for Halloween but by the end of the hunt I was a bit over that idea. *laughs*

Congrats to Myriam V and to all those in the top 10…that’s dedication right there! ;-)

I had a blast this year (just like every year) and I love the new prize structure myself; even if I picked prizes that weren’t something I would choose normally, the idea is creativity and I’m sure people can find ways of using these little components!

Thanks again, Lima for a job well done!!!

You guys are awesome. Since I can never find more than 30 eggs I particularly liked it that I still got to pick prizes!
    It makes the particularly aggravated way I feel for not having found more eggs easier to take :}
    Thanks for the fun,

Congratulations to everyone who participated. I really enjoyed myself this year and make more progress each year little by little. You guys at the Lima team are wonderful people and very generous…I just think y’all are great! I loved everything about the hunt and greatly appreciate my prizes. Keep up the great work and thanks so much for your generosity and kindness.

Congrats to all the winners! I tried to find eggs for my first time this year. I had tons of fun, even though I only found 80-something eggs! Hopefully you do it again next year, I will certainly play again! Im so excited to get the prizes I picked! Ive never ordered beads online and I can’t wait to get my order & prizes (I just had to shop a little too… couldn’t resist)! Thank you again!!

I participated for the 1st time this year and found 69 eggs. I looked and looked and just couldn’t find anymore. I would be curious to know where some of them were, that might help for the next time. I think I was just not looking in the right places??

Thank you Lima Beads! I still can hardly believe that I won! *doing a happy dance!* :)

I do agree with diamonddustshoe about adding a special achievement prize for the person at the top. It would be a good thing. I’m super happy that I won, but I can easily imagine how it could be disheartening for the person at the very top of the leaderboard to have nothing to show for their effort. Hunting the eggs is serious business! ;)

Thanks for another great hunt. It gets better every year. I received a beautiful amethyst stalactite pendant for my efforts and it’s even more beautiful than the picture. Love it! I have to say thanks also to Lima Beads users who also make the site so inspirational and fun, especially with the Fresh Picks and design ideas.
