“poor Annie kitty!”

Description from Helen G aka tea chick: we took our new kitty, Annie, to the vet yesterday because she had been limping. The doc said, "the good news is, no fractures!" It's a soft tissue injury that should heal on it's own. The bad news, however, is that Annie's teeth are all falling out! She's pretty young, but her body seems to be rejecting her teeth and she needs them ALL PULLED! When I gasped in horror when he said this, he said that it's actually OK, they do just fine after the procedure, cats only really need their teeth for hunting (she's an indoor cat, so defense is not an issue). We've only had her a few weeks, so I had not seen the damage to her mouth yet, but she had some bad breath (no wonder)! I hate to put her through such a procedure, but she'll be a lot happier afterwards. And oh yeah, it will cost about $750! No beads for a while...

When Wrigley my shelty was young, he got into cockle burrs. He tried to pull them off and swallowed them. Then his throat got all scratched up. WE had to bring him to the emergency vet. He was such a sight! The vet asked if there was anything else he should do while checking him over. I said yes, would you mind shaving his privates as they are plastered to his belly. There wasn’t a dry eye at the animal hospital as everyone was laughing. Wrigley truned out fine a little moth eaten, and medicine for his throat.
