I selected a variety of nuggets in faded earthy jewel tones. The colors reminded me of a vintage tie-dyed t-shirt & jeans. That color palette needed a soft material to complement the soft colors, so I went with the stitched suede cord. It fit perfectly through the holes of the nuggets. Adding the Arte Metal jump rings as accents gives a nice hardware look.

Supplies you’ll need:

  • 3' of stitched suede cord
  • 6 Tagua nugget beads
  • variety of jump rings
  • adhesive

Tip: If you have a hard time getting the cord through the tagua holes, make sure your holes are clear, then try gently twisting and pushing the cord into the hole. That worked for me :-)

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step 1

Knot one end of the cord. Create an overhand loop knot at this end.String on several jump rings, then a Tagua nut nugget. Slide these up to the knot just made.

Step 2

Repeat 5 times, stringing on a variety of varying sizes of jump rings in between each nugget.

Step 3

Finish your by stringing on several jump rings, knotting the last one to the suede. Take end of suede cord and string through the loop knot and double the cord back.

Step 4

Tie a single adjustable knot using the unfinished end of the suede cord. Dab the back of the knot with adhesive, make sure not to get on the cord that the knot slides on.

Step 5

The necklace should vary in length from 20"-28" by sliding the knot
