This simple chevron friendship bracelet can be made with hemp or thread in endless color combinations.

Supplies you’ll need:

  • Four 64" pieces of Hemp or C-Lon cord- different colors
  • 2" piece of rhinestone chain (optional)
  • needle & thread (optional)

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step 1

Fold the strings in half to end up with eight 32" long strands.
Tie a knot about an inch from the top to for a loop.

Step 2

Clip the loop to a clipboard or notebook.

Step 3

Separate the strands and lay them out in the order shown in the picture.

Step 4

Working from the left, tie an over/under double knot with string number 1 onto strings 2, 3, & 4, working left to right. It's important to remember to tie double knots.

Step 5

Next, take string number 1 from the far right side and work towards the middle- tying double-knots right to left on strings 2, 3, and 4. You should end up with both number 1 strands in the middle.

Step 6

Tie the two middle strands (number 1) together and pull the knots tight.

Step 7

Repeat steps 4-6, making sure to always start with the outermost strings and work towards the middle. Keep going until the bracelet is as long as you'd like.

Step 8

Tie a knot at the end and leave a 1-1.5" tail. At this point you can either tie the bracelet around your wrist by knotting the ends around the loop on the other end of the bracelet, or you can tie a button or a charm to the end, and slide it through the hoop.

Step 9

*Optional* Using a needle & thread, I sewed on a piece of rhinestone chain to the bracelet.
