For these snowflakes, I used crystals, Czech glass, and recycled glass. They're fun to make, and you can create endless color combinations. They work great as ornaments, window hangings, or gift toppers.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step 1

Slide the bead son the snowflake in the order shown in the picture- a 2mm crystal, a 3mm crystal (or three 2mm crystals), a rice bead, a 3mm crystal, a 2mm crystal, a 6mm round, a 2mm crystal, 3mm crystal, rice bead, 3mm crystal, 2mm crystal, 6mm round, 2mm crystal, 3mm crystal, a Czech glass bicone, and seven 2mm crystals. (This is the order of beads for the snowflake shown, but there are a lot of different combinations you can do). It's easiest to do one prong at a time and place a dot of glue on the last crystal. Wait a moment for it to dry before moving on to the next one. Leave the crystals off of one prong, so the last bead is a bicone. Using round nose pliers, bend the wire down to create a loop.

Step 2

Wrap a piece of wire a few times around a prong, underneath the first 6mm round bead. the wire should be long enough to go around the whole snowflake, so around an 8" piece.

Step 3

Slide 2mm crystals on the wire (9-10, or enough to fill the space) and wrap the wire around the next ring in the same spot (under the first 6mm round).

Step 4

Continue until the wire is wrapped around the whole snowflake.

Step 5

Repeat steps 2-4, wrapping the wire above the rice bead & using 3mm clear crystals.

Step 6

Attach a 2" piece of wire to the middle of the row of 2mm crystals by wrapping it around the wire a few times.

Step 7

Slide on two large beads (or enough to fill the gap) and wrap the wire a few times around the middle of the row of 3mm crystals. Slide on a rice bead and trim the wire as close to the top of the bead as possible. Place a drop of glue on top of the rice bead. Tie a piece of ribbon to loop from step one to hang.
