These felt pieces are great for creating endless holiday projects! This festive trivet would make a great centerpiece on your table. It can be made smaller for coasters, or larger to accommodate any size pot.

Supplies you’ll need:

  • Needle & Thread
  • Grey 15mm Felt Rounds (63 pieces)
  • White 15mm Felt Rounds (76 pieces)
  • White 20mm Felt Round (1)
  • Red 15mm Felt Rounds (60 pieces)
  • Green 15mm Felt Rounds (70 pieces)
  • Felt Santa (2)
  • Felt Rudolph (5)
  • Felt Gingerbread (3)
  • Felt Snowflakes (5)
  • Felt Tree (4)
  • Felt Snowman (3)

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step 1

There are a few different ways you can go about making this. You can slide the felt pieces onto a long piece of thread-creating a long garland- and then make a coil with the garland, and sew each layer together. For mine, I began with a wire frame. Cut the tip of the wire at an angle so it becomes pointed and slide the gray felt balls on. The amount of felt used will vary based on the size you choose to make.

Step 2

Twist the ends of the wire together to secure and trim off the excess wire.

Step 3

Make garlands with the remaining colors of the felt rounds. I also slid on the holiday shapes to the garlands as well. Sew the red garland to the outside of the grey felt rounds. Sew the white & green garlands to the inside.

Step 4

Lay out the center shape with the 20mm felt ball in the middle and the Rudolph faces & snowflakes around it. Sew them together. Sew the focal shape to the felt rounds. Sew more white felt rounds into any open spaces in the center.
