For this design, I braided Sari Silk to create a long necklace & I added a gemstone wrapped hoop & amethyst points to create a unique focal piece.
Begin with three pieces of sari silk, each about 2.5'-3' long. Tie the three strands together and clip them to a clipboard. Braid the strands.
loop the braided sari around the gold hoop- forming a secure knot.
Take another small piece of sari & wrap it around the knot.
Using the wire, make bead links with three of the amethyst points- connecting them directly to each other. Attach to the old hoop with a jump ring.
Wrap a piece of the gold wire a few times around the gold hoop and string on 16 of the turquoise beads.
Wrap the wire under the sari knot in the middle of the hoop, and come back around the hoop with the wire, wrapping it in between each bead.
I made two hoops with the brass wire and knotted each end of the braided sari around them. Lastly, make two bead links with the turquoise beads and attach them to the hoops.
