For this design, I used a mix of gemstones, Czech glass, and African brass to create this lariat layered necklace. I love how the different shades of purple look with the little pops of blue- one of my favorite color combinations!

Supplies you’ll need:

  • Beading Wire
  • Gold Chain
  • Gold Jump Rings
  • Gold Crimp Tubes
  • Gold Lobster Clasps
  • Gold Headpins
  • African Brass Tubes
  • Gold Filigree Coin Focal
  • Assorted Gemstones, Czech Glass, & Seed Beads (see below for the products I used)

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step 1

For the shorter necklace, begin with a piece of beading wire about 12" long. Make a loop at one end and secure with a crimp tube. Using headpins, make 5 bead charms with a seed bead & the African brass tubes. Slide the beads & bead charms onto the wire in the order shown in the picture. Make a loop at the end of the wire & secure with a crimp tube.

Step 2

Using jump rings, attach each side of the wire to a 5" piece of chain.

Step 3

For the Lariat necklace, begin with a 3" piece of chain.Attach the coin charm to the bottom with a jump ring. Attach a jump ring to the top of the chain & slide on two 10.5" pieces of chain.

Step 4

Using headpins, make bead charms with the Kunzite nuggets, Amazonite roundels, garnet, and the Czech glass rose bicones.

Step 5

Use jump rings to attach the bead charms to the chain.
